Ya... But as being a test - rat for the French?Originally posted by Orcishwarrior:if we purchase either the Rafale or Eurofighter. We will have the whole spectums of weaponary especially the Storm Shadow or Apache, Brimstone, Meteor (2010), Mica and etc. Thats gonna be impressive.
But are you willing to the Asian test - rat?Originally posted by ThebetterRob:Well the Eurofighter is a good crossbreed of the advantages of Rafale and the F15:
- modern technology like Rafale (missiles, airframe, stealth)
- long production run with 638 aircraft ordered by five nations with quite a few others interested too (Norway, Saudi-Arabia, Turkey)
I think Singapore will go Eurofighter.
I'd say the f15t....just dont underestimate the old warhorse......its not like boeing gonna give us refitted old planesOriginally posted by Goondu74:Place your bets here! Odds at 2:3 for F15, 1:2 for Typhoon and 1:4 for Rafale!
We can probably get the SLAM-ER from the US...if they restrict that, there are always AGM-142s from Israel...Originally posted by gary1910:Getting EF or Rafale, we might get ALCM(Air Launched Cruise Missile).
French and UK is will to provide us the source codes.
US most probably none of the above.
F-15 production will be closed after the SKorea delivery 2008?
Let's say we get F-15T, the production line will most likely close after our delivery.
What if we want more due to attrition or increase tension in the region??
It will be more costly for us to reopen the line!!!!
So anything but F-15Ts!!!!
a long time ago...there used to be a game called US navy fighters....Originally posted by sgFish:We can probably get the SLAM-ER from the US...if they restrict that, there are always AGM-142s from Israel...
source codes i'm not sure..are they the same as the Israeli ones?
only one article...Originally posted by Noeyessee:Rafale might be in....look at www.miw.com.sg..all is rafale...
The French airforce and navy are both flying the rafale. British, German, spanish and ltalian are using EF2000. The French Govt has approved F3 standard Rafale F3 will be delivered from 2007 and the first squadron of 20 aircraft will be in service in 2008.Originally posted by sbst275:Ya... Em... Isn't that for their own usage??? If we take, it's their 1st int'l orderOriginally posted by Orcishwarrior:The French airforce and navy are both flying the rafale. Why would we be called a laboratory mouse.
hmm..may i ask why do you say that the eurofighter has a high prospects for its future while the F-15T doesn't?Originally posted by SMAPLionHeart:Muslims will kpkb..i suggest we go for Boeing 747 to defend our skies instead.
Nah, just joking.
My bet is on , EuroFighter , high prospects for their future , rather then F-15T , which has a good history .
The future gonna look brighter then the history , hence i choose EuroFighter.
You sure? F-22 seems kinda stalled into a poltical debate on whether USAF should continue to use the F-15E or change to F-22Originally posted by sgFish:hmm..may i ask why do you say that the eurofighter has a high prospects for its future while the F-15T doesn't?
Yes... In fact, keeping quiet is better... Leak too much, your rival knows what you are offering...Originally posted by SpecOps87:Hmmmz......not too sure bout their pushing efforts. But,seems that F-15 is the quietest in their marketing locally.Rafale and BAe Systems quite on,was at a Poly open house and they were giving Rafale and EuroFighter Typhoon flyers, phamplets etc...with their staff there giving introduction etc...Seems alittle over-doing it really. But good for me,haha
And I feel that unless ST really has a very stong missile R&D capability then it is advisable to get F15.As I'm sure that the US would disapprove of any cruise missiles along with the package. But if we get the Rafale or EuroFighter,it would definitely be easier to procure arms. Also not that although the F15 has a high thrust-to-weight ratio,it cannot sustain supersonic speeds for long periods, unlike the EuroFighter...(not sure about the rafale though)
Perhaps this is what is needed to push our missile R&D capability, for that is one area we have not fully developed yet.Anyway, I still believe that we will go for commonality and not try and introduce a spanner into the works , after all, it'll be an interim NGF.And less public hype might be better, after all, we have also seen more F-15s flying in formation with our Vipers than any other candidate.Ruling out the issue of normal training is very possible, when you cast your mind back to the French Defence Minister's visit to Singapore and how she urged us to get the Rafale. In diplo-speak, urge is a very strong word, and it's close to desperation.Add in the rumours/news leak of RSAF having a training detachment in Korea and the picture becomes quite clear all of a suden.Originally posted by SpecOps87:Hmmmz......not too sure bout their pushing efforts.
