hello friend. Even b4 my friend told me what he saw inside S.G camp, I went there last year and already saw it. Damn huge!Originally posted by LazerLordz:It's unsubstantiated rumours and any truth will never be confirmed.
How abt they tow the SkyHawk on the road and let us see it for the last time?Originally posted by IAF:Think we'll see the sm1 rolling down city hall again this NDP? The thought of seeing the amx-13 in the year 2005 at the padang makes me wanna weep![]()
Thought according to mindef, the results will be out by 2nd Q... ?Originally posted by LazerLordz:Yes they should have a parade with the AMX-13 and the Skyhawks. Both have served us well for the past decades. What a good way to let all of us see it before they are phased out.And let us have a Longbow flypast.
Who wants to place bets that we might unveil our NGF on National Day?
are they going to parade the sm1 amx13 tanks this year.. if yes, i am going down to fullerton stationed there to take photographs liao... proud to be one of themOriginally posted by IAF:Think we'll see the sm1 rolling down city hall again this NDP? Yeah 2nd quarter.Just in time for National DayOriginally posted by IAF:Thought according to mindef, the results will be out by 2nd Q... ?
Anyway, it's good to show up surprises like the way the amx-13 debuted in the 60s... With all due respect to the tank, i really think its way too old to take pride of place in the column, esp when our neighbours can field more powerful and modern tanks
If they have moved out of their original location, that mean they are more or less declassified.Originally posted by Manager433:hello friend. Even b4 my friend told me what he saw inside S.G camp, I went there last year and already saw it. Damn huge!
New ones?Oh man..this gets interesting...Originally posted by gary1910:If they have moved out of their original location, that mean they are more or less declassified.
Someone here did say that he Tempest have been put into reserve, if they are indeed in SG camp, then they most possibly are in reserved.
So new MBTs!!!!
Must be even deadlier!!!![]()

I would agree too.Originally posted by tankee1981:The 'Centurions' which Manager433 have seen in SG camp is most likely the CET version of the M60 MBT used by the SCE. As far as i know the only tanks in SG camp close to be called MBTs are exhibits in the Armour Heritage Centre. Despite their age the Tempests are still classified vehicles and their existence cannot be confirmed.![]()
Should be CEV, Combat Engineer Vehicle, not CET Combat Engineer Tractor, they are two different vehicles.Originally posted by tankee1981:The 'Centurions' which Manager433 have seen in SG camp is most likely the CET version of the M60 MBT used by the SCE. It is highly unlikely for the Centurions to be moved there unless operational replacements are there to take their original place in storage. Despite their age and at least 20 years of existence in Singapore, the Centurions are officially still classified vehicles and their existence cannot be confirmed.![]()
i thought east-bloc tank design is pretty good. they're normally half the weight of their western counterpart, design for smaller-built tank crew and with or without auto loader (somebody correct me if i'm wrong).Originally posted by LazerLordz:I would agree too.
It would be nice to see a LeClerc MBT in SG.We should get one of those..
Talk about construction site, you think a bull dozer just go in like that !!! all construction is prepared one, if not why loads and loads of stone and sands by lorries is send to each site. You think construction uncle so stupid like you soft ground also dive in without preparing it.Originally posted by tvdog:Storywolf do you really know what you are talking about? Or as usual do you just repeat like a trained parrot about the ground condition here being different but in what way EXACTLY?
In your empty head are you doing your own analysis or do you just argue for the sake of arguing?
What is so unique about the terrain in this region? What?
You mean there is no mud in Europe or other parts of the world? You mean it doesn't rain in Europe. It rains heavily even in the desert.
Why do you think they invented tanks IN THE FIRST PLACE? It is to counter the muddy condition of the shell cratered battlefield.
C'mon, stop talking co.ck. If our terrain is so bad then all our bulldozers at construction sites would have bogged down.
Just because the AMX-13 is small does mean it is better at traversing soft grounds than a bigger tank. Wide tracks would solve that problem. And on a larger tank, you can have wider tracks to distribute the ground pressure you dumbfcuk.
Next time you want to have a sensible discussion don't begin with a pointed statement directed at me.
You are one of those idiots who state no opinions of your own but wait for someone to make one and then swoop in with personal attacks.
loading can automate, but driving, laying and/or commanding, how'd you do it?Originally posted by Rockhound:hmmm...wats the feasibility of a 2 man tank?....
Well it is totally feasibility of a 2 man tanks. The way technology goes, it may even be soon, or very skip a step further.Originally posted by Rockhound:hmmm...wats the feasibility of a 2 man tank?....
well...erm....Originally posted by fett:loading can automate, but driving, laying and/or commanding, how'd you do it?
Remember a apache helicopter also 2 person ( 1 acting as commander ). If a more complex attack heli can be 2 person, I am sure with more automation, tanks can also .Originally posted by Rockhound:well...erm....
1 driver....
1 gunner....
gunner would be the commandeR?...
i really dunno...was just thinking it up..wondering abt the possibility...
prolly both of them are trained to make crucial decisions?....
i'm stumped really...
