Dude. You're an NSF.Such tougher training should only be in SISPEC.Not BMTC.Injury rates will shoot through the roof.Originally posted by Sardaukar:Having gone through the 9 week BMT course,I feel that there needs to be a reassessment of our BMT difficulty.
First of all, while all major components of the training can be scheduled to take place within 9 weeks,I feel that a return to the 10-week BMT would allow better physical and mental conditioning of our troops, and to perhaps make the BMT Graduation March 28 km instead of 24 km,to increase the baseline resilience of our recruits.
Currently, the major components of the BMT are:
IPPT
Route Marches
Basic Assault Course
Field Camp
Sit-Test
Live Range
IMT
BCCT
While all the components are easily manageable,I feel that the physical training components of our BMT need to be enhanced.Currently, for BMT we have AGR(Ability Group Run),Strength Trainings,Combat PT and IPPT Skills Training.
Perhaps those NSFs currently in service and NSmen can petition somehow for the reintroduction of Log PT,Rifle PT(which was minimal in my BMT coy) and more strenous physical training as a way of hardening our recruits more,as well as giving CSMs more leeway in administrating coy training and welfare. While I'm all for the new 3G Army,we should have elements of 2G training as well.
why do you think 28 km will be better than 24 km, other than the general reason that the more the better? can i say that you felt bmt to be quite simple and not as challenging as you expected? well. that could either mean you were well prepared before going in, or that it was really meant to be that way - the training was effective!Originally posted by Sardaukar:Having gone through the 9 week BMT course,I feel that there needs to be a reassessment of our BMT difficulty.

Furthermore, they should not consider the BMT period part of NS.They should consider NS as starting once you get into SISPEC,OCS or get assigned to a unit, and instead should label BMT as a paramilitary phase of training of sorts.
actually its not how long your BMT is. it's how much contents there are. if u had to go thru a BMT lasting one year but with the same syllabus now, u'll realise u get to seng nang a lot every day, because u only got this much to learn, and much more time to learn it in. my frens who went for enhanced BMT found that they had so much less free time compared to people who were in the 16 week obese BMTs, because the obese people had a longer time frame to stretch their training out over. this means RO gets read at 5pm and then its OTOT after that for the whole nite most of the time.Originally posted by keuriseudo:I would like to request for a 7-week BMT...

log pt is bad causes wrist injuriesOriginally posted by lwflee:Log and Rifle Pt is a No-go. Whatever advantages these exercises have can be replicated through BWEs or the gym. So why re-introduce those obsolete exercises?
Simply put, the disadvantages greatly outweigh the advantages.
