Which military show was this?Originally posted by HENG@:i spoke to a war vet on monday. he was a Bren Gun Carrier driver with the Queen's Royal Regiment. He told me, they'd just done D-Day, stormed up Gold beach, and a column of the BGCs were travelling down thru the Villers Bocage area and he was in the 3rd BCG from the front. They came to a set of crossroads, and then the lead BGC caught an 88mm shell from some german gun. There was a big boom, and the lead BGC simply disappeared, while the rest of them wheeled around and retreated. Later on that day, they'd have to go back and shovel up the chunks of flesh together and leave them at the side of the road for the burial parties coming up behind the advance units. To top it all off, they served stew for dinner that night.

nah it wasn't a show. they were going some filming at Trafalgar Sq for the veteran's day or something, and I happened to be there. The BGC pic is from some random site on the web.Originally posted by LazerLordz:Which military show was this?
ya .. totally flattened, I thought ATGM just drill a small hole thru and use propellent to kill occupants inside .... shocking !!!Originally posted by Tango1:Funny leh..that's a Javelin missile..and there was nothing left of the tank after the missile hit the tank. In Joint Ops Escalation (FPS game) it takes TWO Javes to destroy a tank?! Alamak...the game is even harder than real life ah?!![]()
what the purpose of the Bren Gun Carrier? if i'm not wrong, Bren Gun is just a top loading LMG with a 20rds mag.Originally posted by HENG@:i spoke to a war vet on monday. he was a Bren Gun Carrier driver with the Queen's Royal Regiment. Hollywood mah!Originally posted by sgFish:i read somewhere that the tank in this video was filled with some explosive to make the effect more spectacular...
The video was shown on TankNet forums before - the tank was filled with explosives to simulate a hit on a tank that was fully loaded with tank rounds stored inside.Originally posted by sgFish:i read somewhere that the tank in this video was filled with some explosive to make the effect more spectacular...

actually hor .. with so many kinds of missiles these days shouldn't they come out with some kind of counter-measures or flares for it? If planes can have counter-measures why not tanks after all even a cheap MBT like T72 still will cost abt 700k USD thats > S$1million, and what abt the not so easy to replace tankees that take stacks and stacks of $$$ and years to train.
