haha..saw it again funny .. but actually if you think abt it .. is very good deterrant idea against oncoming enemy amphibious landing forces.
At low tide get a excavator and dig down 2meter deep and 4meter wide all along the strip you are defending then wait for incoming tide to fill it back up again with sand and water which makes very soft fast sinking mud.
When amphibious forces land the minute they jump off their boats with all their heavy gear they sink, rifles become clogged with dirt most will not operate very well.
Light vehicles come in also sink along with the men in a ClusterFuck Mass Orgy makes them prime stationary targets for our waiting machine gunners.
I ever kanna before, walking over a plank carrying my 84, fell in to some really stinking sinking mud, the more you try to get out the more you sink and get stuck..really frustrating. -

Seriously though, in real life, a beace recce would have been done so that will be unlikely to happen. Unless of course those RMs were trg to do a beach recce, in which case, mission accomplished. -

but as u proceed deeper into the jungle, the mud is not so bad anymore. the thorny trees took over as the main problem... -

incidentally...anyone ever saw any crocs in brunei? all the issuing of live rounds and thunderflashes-in-the-water business - is it just a case of kiasee-ism, or is it really needed? -
tt night in the swamp is one of the most unforgettable night in my life so far... halfway thru the night, the tide began to rise and we have to shift to other places to sleep. then it began to rain...

Obviously not so much a laughing matter if you have done costal defence.
Singapore coast is largly reclaimed, even then most of approaches is tidal flats (except port areas). Most of SE asia is monsoon vegtation, i.e. tidal swamps like those off LCK.
East Coast park and marina south are abnormalies.
For Beach defences, our triple con requires the 2.4m long iron pickets (yes, 240cm not the std 1.7 m long iron picket), why? bcos of the mud bottom which makes the 1.7m picket look like a tooth pick after the tide comes in. Best joke was to try to recover them.. (trade secrect, PM me if youre in PDF as pioneer for solution)
