The F-16 and the F-15 share common weapons.Originally posted by SMAPLionHeart:SG don't like to keep so many different kind of aircraft 1..
its a logistics nightmare..
F-16 , F-5 cannot use rafale weapons though =/Originally posted by LazerLordz:The F-16 and the F-15 share common weapons.
Eh SBSK.Be careful where you tread..we have eyes.Originally posted by SMAPLionHeart:My bet is F-15T
Why F-15T?
1 ) It gives out a political message , the only F-15T , air-air superiority fighter
2 ) If Singapore wants to get F-35 , it must bow down to US political pressure
to buy F-15T
3 ) No one has bought the Rafale , note that F-5 , F-16 and A-4 are used widely by countries as well.
In conclusion , Singapore will take F-15 T , not even a single air-loss you know??
Those SU-30(s) will only be wacking mosquitos...It is reported that F-15E is 80% more advanced then it's predecessors..
Even if Singapore gets the MICA or whatever EADS, MBDA systems..
also cannot inter-change and use with F-16/ F-5 E...
How about the F-15T?
I don't think F-16 can use MICA missiles?
This one I'm in total agreement with you.Ability to exit kill zone rapidly.Originally posted by SMAPLionHeart:1 more thing, F-15T afterburner's capability cannot be denied.
guess you are also typhoon supporter....Originally posted by freeman8:Hi guys,
No point guessing which a/c will win the bid. As long as the Big Brother says "Either you are with me or against me". We are screwed and have to get F-15T from Apple-land, whether you like it or not. Looking at the economy situation in US and Boeing being in the Red state (Republican), Brother Bush will push for it to keep the production line running, thus keeping the voters happy....So what we can do is to bitch about it and lives goes on....
Well you are wrong. The HAF Mirage 2000 did down a Turk's AF F-16.Originally posted by SMAPLionHeart:Anyway, Dassault's Mirage 2000 , one of their more widely used planes
have never had any air kills before.
Its just like the casino , just that the stakes are higher..

Yo, right on...Afterall, Typhoon and Rafale is an a/c straight from drawing board, but our dear F-15T is a make over form the earlier F-15. Maybe some upgrades on the equipment. aerodynamics wise, it is limited by the design of the airframe.Originally posted by duotiga83:guess you are also typhoon supporter....

The comparison is now the offer is... two..sorry one young nice looking lady that can do a lot of stuns or you prefer old lady with heavy makeover and most probably can't do much but she got lots of money to throw at you...The choice is yours. Hope this comparison is not too crap.
Didn't you read that the F-15s were creamed by the IAF Su-30s in Cope India?Originally posted by tvdog:Urm, the F-15 has been defeating all her adversaries so far. And hasn't reached a point where her stunts are obsolete.
It's true that the Rafale is a much newer and agile warplane. But you have to remember that aircrafts from the French Dassault company have NEVER been top performers.
What makes you think the Rafale will break the norm and actually become a great success?
The F-15, on the other hand, is already a well-rated, well-proven combat aircraft. So if F-15T is an improved version of a well-proven aircraft, you can't go wrong.
Whereas the Rafale has not been in operation for long, and has never been tested or proven in combat. Anything can go wrong. And some faults can take several years to show up like airframe weakness, engine problems etc.
The F-15 has stood the test of everything thrown at it.
can post full details of the incident here???Originally posted by Joe Black:Didn't you read that the F-15s were creamed by the IAF Su-30s in Cope India?

wait...hold it...were the americans part of the air national guard or full time airforce???Originally posted by Joe Black:"Not long had the exercises finished when the media in both countries painted the exercises as a 'rude shock' for the USAF and the Washington establishment. According to respected media reports, Indian pilots outflew the Americans, right through the exercise. “On the first day all four American planes were shot down. Never once did the Indians come off second”. According to United States media, the F-15C's were defeated more than 90 percent of the time in direct combat exercises against the IAF. It should be noted that the IAF did not field its newest “near fifth-generation” Sukhoi-30MKI air-dominance fighters and if it did so, the results may have been even more favourable to the IAF. Nevertheless the IAF had the benefit of operating the two-seater Sukhoi-30MK/K “four plus-plus-generation” fighters."

"The whole world knows that if you mess with U.S. Air Force pilots, you're going down. Hard.
Except, someone forgot to send the memo to India, apparently. Because, in recent exercises, Indian flyboys in low-tech Russian and French jets defeated American F-15C pilots more than 90 percent of the time."

"The Russian-built Sukhoi Su-30MK, the high-performance fighter being exported to India and China, consistently beat the F-15C in classified simulations, say U.S. Air Force and aerospace industry officials.
In certain circumstances, the Su-30 can use its maneuverability, enhanced by thrust-vectoring nozzles, and speed to fool the F-15's radar, fire two missiles and escape before the U.S. fighter can adequately respond. This is according to Air Force officials who have seen the results of extensive studies of multi-aircraft engagements conducted in a complex of 360-deg. simulation domes at Boeing's St. Louis facilities. "Results of air exercise with India a "wake-up call" for US air force: general
WASHINGTON (AFP) Jun 23, 2004
The US Air Force got a "wake-up call" in air-to-air training exercises with India earlier this year that showed the United States can no longer take air superiority for granted in a conflict, a top US general said Wednesday.
A study of the "Cope India" air exercise, conducted by the US and Indian air forces in Gwalior, India last February, is secret, said General Hal Hornburg, head of the air force's Air Combat Command.
"But we have to learn a lot of things from that," he told defense reporters here. "We have to learn if we want air superiority it doesn't come cheap and it's not automatic."
The Russian-made SU-30s are reported to have bested the F-15s in a majority of their engagements, much to the surprise of the organizers."

Now, please tell me, why should RSAF still go with F-15T?
yea...but u don talk numerical superiority to a country tat has the kind of electronics tat will make james bond sh*t in his pantsOriginally posted by |-|05|:The upgrading the F-15 to the ACT standard wld cost around the same as a brand new plane. Meaning 1 for the price of 2.....
