  At least Spanish leaders were smart enough to get their troops the hell out of Dodge at the earliest chance.

  I have my doubts about PM Zapatero's actions..but the very least he could have left one support force to assist the Japanese in the reconstruction work..after all, we have a duty to help Iraq get on its feet again, even more so if Spain's new PM was opposed to the US-led invasion.
  
  But good work to the Spanish troops..and RIP to the fallen.
