Most "steath" ships somehow look "unsexy"... because their "lines" are meant to be non-radar reflecting rather then streamlined under non-steath ships...Originally posted by koxinga:Sorry, but i think she is pretty ugly. Functional, deadly yes, but not visually pleasing. It is the layout of the design. The configuration is unusual with the rear taller than the front bridge.
There are 3 photos of her on sea trial at Brest via Janes Fighting Ships.
Once they are officially released, you will know why. It is a love-it-or-hate-it kinda thing.
soon? i thought the recruitment drive was long long over liow 2 years ago? which from what i hear.. for every post, there were 7 to 10 applicant....Originally posted by YI:hmm.. so is a massive recruitment drive starting soon? rsn where got people to man these ships.
Good to have but overkill in terms of practical use and then, theres manpower issues and COST (dun want to end up like a superpower in debt).Originally posted by fkh:Frigate is nothing to be proud of.
It will be better if RSN have Aegis destroyers..
Why ? Aegis Destroyers have long ranged SAM (SM-2)
and Tomahawks.
Less then 100 men per Frigate. Six frigate only 600 men, this is excluding the shore support personnel.Originally posted by YI:hmm.. so is a massive recruitment drive starting soon? rsn where got people to man these ships.
how are you going to train the sailors if the ship isn't even built 2 years back?Originally posted by tripwire:soon? i thought the recruitment drive was long long over liow 2 years ago? which from what i hear.. for every post, there were 7 to 10 applicant....
afterall... you cant wait till the ship is in the water before trainning the sailors... you actually have to train the sailors first.....
adding 600 to the payrolls is massive considering rsn publicsed manpower strength. not sure if those guys from the lst is still around. what have they been doing all these years? idling? lst had long been decomm.Originally posted by spencer99:Less then 100 men per Frigate. I don't think we need a massive recruitment lah.
Anyway with the shift from 6 Manpower instensive ex-USN LST to 4 Endurance LST we probably save a lot of manpower from there!
