Uhh, LL, I don't think it's his fraternity. Judging by the posts, it's based on a few scraps of information about SOF that have been printed in the local papers. If I remembered correctly, Singapore Armed Forces also successfully carried out evacuation of Singaporeans & foreginers when there was some problem in a country north of Thailand.
There are other overt-covering-covert operations that the Singapore Armed Forces had carried out that I'm sure a person of your position should surely know about.
My point here is this, despite the fact that Singapore Armed Forces have yet to participate in an actual war, that you so desire, it has already proven itself to be able to handle military operations of whatever nature & so far has yet to fail. I know for certain that I can't defend the American military operations record as much as I want to neither can a Frenchee claim that the FFL is any good. So how can you still put the Singapore Armed Forces reputation into cold water, unless your not a Singaporean or have never served in the Singapore Armed Forces, like me.
Note, that I used the Singapore Armed Forces in general rather then focusing on just the commandos. -
