Well, if you don't like the flick rammer, you can manually ram like they do in other countries. Just use a long stick and push the projectile into the chamber. In the US, it takes just two huge ang mos holding the stick to seat the projectile properly. For us, it will probably need three or four guys. See how your arms feel after a few fire missions.

Trust me, flick rammer is a huge advance.
The Ultimax 100 is not at all like the FN MAG (aka GPMG). The mechanism is completely different. The Ultimax 100 was designed with help from the famous Eugene Stoner, who also designed many other small arms. Some of the operating characteristics of the gun are still unmatched by other weapons, especially the recoil reduction system.
The FN MAG is actually a fusion of two WW2 weapons. It uses the same unique sliding bolt locking system as the US BAR. The feed, buffer and trigger mechanisms are similar to the infamous German MG42. So even this best of its class weapon is a "copy" in some sense.
