  I really can't imagine what would have happened had the above scenario happened instead of Columbus discovering this continent. One thing for sure: no George W Bush or 9/11 incidents.

  don't even think they would have made it if they had wanted to..they had to sail across the atlantic ocean before landing and finding red indians attacking them

  They almost took Vienna, but were beaten back by the Austrians. It seems the attempted invasion of Vienna gave rise to the eating of croissants (Yum!). Correct me if I'm wrong.

  yep they were beaten back in Vienna and Lepento which is why i said they'd have better luck taking over europe 1st.

  A recent finding points to Admiral ChengHo who might be the first to discovered America. If this is so. that means that IF and only IF Chinese were to settle down in America, things will not be the same. Maybe Georgie might be just a a shopkeeper selling cooking oil in AngMo-town....instead of the Gangster of the Free world.

  There are lotsa possibilities for the "what-ifs" in history.
  
  What if the Ottomans conquered Vienna?
  What if Genghis Kahn conquered the whole of Europe?
  What if Cheng Ho went to Portugal?
  What if the Incas colonised Australia first?
  What if Vikings conquered Western Europe.
  What if Genghis Kahn invaded Japan?

  The Vikings took much of Western Europe, including the east coast of Britain as well as Northern France. In fact, the inhabitants of the Normandy region had Viking ancestry (Norman meaning Northman or something). Also many towns in England (eg Whitby, Grimsby and Selby) had Scandinavian-inspired names (note the similarity to Hammarby in Norway).
  
  An interesting point to note is that the Vikings may have discovered the New World well before the Portuguese did.
