As I say again, [b]the competition is still on. "In the process of seeking final clarifications and contract negotiation with Boeing" mean the negotiation is final for Boeing. Mindef need to have 2 final contract in order to decide which to sign.
In response to media queries on the status of the SAFÂ’s Next Fighter Replacement Programme (NFRP), a spokesperson said that MINDEF is now in the process of seeking final clarifications and contract negotiation with Boeing.

60 Vipers?I would think our Eagles are meant for deep strike bombing role, from outside the ADA perimeter.Originally posted by Paladin:Are the NGF or NFPR program specially launch to counter the Su-30MKM?
Sorry me a bit confuse.. if the new aircraft's role is to counter the Su-30MKM then what will be roles of the 60 vipers?
haha.. ok..Originally posted by LazerLordz:60 Vipers?I would think our Eagles are meant for deep strike bombing role, from outside the ADA perimeter.
The SU30s can be taken care of by the Blk52+ with BVR weaponry, possibly directed by the AESA on the Eagles.
Are the F15 really so bad?Originally posted by laser51088:havent posted in this forums since like last year i think... came back to see the response to the F-15 news... saw it in the papers...
very very saddening.....
i was hoping for the rafale from the very beginning...
those who say look at the inside of the F-15... any info on how the F-15 will perform in tmr's world? just wanna know more... not been following for awhile...
haiz.... i mean, i know now military force probably mostly for show and demo only rather than any real fighting... but still... dun have to go for some old air frame....
damn saddening news....
Singapore is known to buy for her needs, not to answer to the spin doctors.I'd say our F-15s fill up a gap in our air force that is there for a long while now.Originally posted by laser51088:havent posted in this forums since like last year i think... came back to see the response to the F-15 news... saw it in the papers...

Well, someone said this in the 1950's and it cumulated to the F4 Phantom... all bristling with Missiles and no guns.. the pilots lost their dog-fighting abilities and became missile drivers... They got wacked in Vietnam by the so-called "2nd rate" pilots of the Commie North and had to hurriedly start Top Gun to relearn all of the dog-fight skills again n install the M61 in the Phantom.( see Cunningham-Col Tomb classic encounter...)Originally posted by bigballs11:Heh heh, just as I say, we will get the F-15T.
Don't mind shade some more secret from my spy network.
2) The F-15T though 3G design of the 70's, but come with 4G/5G electronics suite, so as long as you see you enemy first, first the hightech missile and then ran away is the new rule of thumb. Anyway dude, "Top Gun" style dogfight doesn't exist in 99.99% in the 21 century real world air combat conflict.
I don't understand too. If RSAF want a cheap low cost platform, they shall go for the F16E/F as only half of the F15T price only and also come with AESA and can carry most of the F15T weapon too.Originally posted by spencer99:hmmm Is the RSAF now more focused on A-G rather then A-A??
... i would think that as a A-G platform the F15T/F15E would be optimal... esp with a greater load carrying capablity
I thot that with the F16Ds flying A-G and SEAD, we would get a better A-A platform, in which the Rafale with its lower RCS and greater manuvorablity will stand out....
I don't know what the Airforce wants.... maybe it want a "cheap" lower cost platform that is cheaper and easiler to integrate into exisitng infrastructure and weapons.....
And then wait for the F-35.....
F-16 E/F no longer as cheap as before.Originally posted by wkl:I don't understand too. If RSAF want a cheap low cost platform, they shall go for the F16E/F as only half of the F15T price only and also come with AESA and can carry most of the F15T weapon too.
Sg pay so cheap, what the korean will think?Originally posted by UTAS:F15 won by price this time. Only 30 US million a piece. Sg has increase to 20 unit due to the price.
Now we know the reason for chossing F15, is a v gd buy.
you mind posting the links to your info too ? .... thanksOriginally posted by UTAS:F15 won by price this time. Only 30 US million a piece. Sg has increase to 20 unit due to the price.

it still is .... but won't be for much longer .... only the pacific fleet air arm still has them i think ... in anycase the pheonix has already been taken out of service ... so what you have is basically a large and unwieldy fighter .... even though it's one of the sweetest looking bird that has ever flown ...Originally posted by AF2005:actually the F15 sorts of reminds me of tomcat. F14.
not sure this F14 still in service.
I thought F16E/F which UAE purchased : US$50 million. F15K Koera bought : US$80 to 90 million. Are you sure we got the F15T for only US$30 million ?Originally posted by SMAPLionHeart:F-16 E/F no longer as cheap as before.![]()

Sg might opt for a more sophisticated aircraft in future ,or use a combination of fighter planes and combat drones once technology of unmanned aircraft mature,MAV is one of the answers for unmanned one he mentioned above
