Israel developed this really fantastic piece of equipment which basically allows the firer to fire from behind cover without exposing himself to enemy return fire.SAF also created the MANS system or something which is basically this really souped up SAR-21 with a camera system which allows the user to extend the weapon around corners to recon the area and shoot if necessary.
The difference is that Cornershot is actually not a weapon but a platform for mounting a weapon and the user is completely out of harm's way.Also from the website if memory serves me well,there is a model for a grenade launcher version to be out soon.But whats the virtue of DSTA having develop the MANS system if the user has to risk having his hands shot just so that he can extend his hands into the corner? -
Extend hands very good liao loh. no need to expose ur whole body. US OICW can even lift overhead and shoot via and LCD viewer mounted on helmet. Lagi best rite?

But both Cornershot platform and the SAR-21 MANS system can also allow the firer to lift the weapon overhead and fire also while behind cover.However the SAR21 set-up looks so fragile man,the LCD screen makes it look like if any rough abuse,that's it for the viewer.

the lcd on the sar-21 is linked to the weapon. Whereas the OICW was supposed to be linked to a helmet mounted display.

Its very intresting to know that the Germans have such foresight to design such a weapon way before all other countries. There are info in the following website. It stated that the weapon's ability to shoot around corners "never worked correctly"

Its quite hard to aim a corner shot weapon... imagine, ur up and down, left right all mixed up.

Besides,why don't they create something for the MP5K or the P90?Imagine the 30-50rounds of 9mm or 5.7mm to boot.Haha,sure power... -
Erm, ur updown is affected by whether u bring ur arm up, and whether u twist ur grip or not. Very messy stuff.

its more of recon purpose? make sure gt no danger round the corner den chiong!

The brits had something like that in ww1 on the beaches of Turkey.
