The guard was an ass, at the SIG booth.
But the organizers were pretty tied up so I ended fiddling with the sights and the CISCO chap looked incredulously at me for a while and turned away.
My group was hefting lots of camera gear, and he didn't seem to want to pick an argument further. -

Was there from like 9.30 to 4.30pm. Messed around with lots of stuff. Went to kachiau the mp9 uncle until he let me cock the weapon.. whahhah. Its basically a very heavily modded steyr tmp.
Almost all the armaments there, from pistol to rifle also kachiau liao. And finally, the whole exhibition i saw something that i liked. And its the NEWer and lighter Sar-21.
No LAD, not batteries, just a reflex sight on a lighter SAR-21. Weight abt 3kg unloaded. FINALLY THINGS MAKE SENSE!!
Not very exciting displays from the USAF F-16 and F-15. Usual stuff, cuban 8, loops, 9g turns, immelman, slow speed handling. 4-8 point turns, knife edge flight, muscle climb. Nothing exciting... AIRSHOWS REALLY NEED A AEROBATIC DEMONSTRATION TEAM DAMMIT!!!
The only one that was actually somewhat exciting was the tailslide by the 311, and the steep spin stall by the pilatus pc-21.
Otherwise, the a380 stole the show... I mean talk about a MAJESTIC entrance. Woo!
When u all check out the static displays, look out for the USN and USAF makeshift stalls, got some nice looking squadron t-shirts n polo-t. A bit expensive tho. Expect to pay like $50 for a polo-t.
Nothing fantastic from the static display. Can't climb into any of the jets except the nice folks from SAAB. Dam long queue just to sit in the cockpit of the gripen... too long to interest me. No-show from Sukhoi, or MiG-Mapo (wadever its called now), No-show from Eurofighter, nor Dassault.
Overall, well this one just aint fun. I'd give it a miss if i were u .. unless u really have nothing better to do. A lot of the promoters weren't very enthusiastic abt the public asking them questions.. Exception being the USAF and our SAF and ST guys! If it weren't for them, i think the atmosphere would be quite dreary. -
Had bad XP @ the SIG booth too... The PGM Hecate uncle also farking rude. when i wan to give the Hecate a try, he shurgged me off saying that i underaged cannot touch weapon. KNS. I take out 11B show him. He grumbled but nv psh his luck further.
Next the SIG 552 cisco guard... same experience as the others before me. Rude....
Truthfully, had more fun in the ST & SAF areas...
Aerial display wise was a fluke other than the A380.
Static display was really static too...
Saw Nathan in the morning ard 10am. He was touring the Ah-64 Longbow & JSF @ the courtyard. Had a v good chat with an aircraft tech, a MSG... Asked him abt the maintenance difficulties of the Longbow. I artillery tech mah...
Left @ ard 3.30pm with my arms n face burning red. Hope the new Changi Airshow thingie would be much much much better than AA2006,2004... -

Some more mine is the first day, the grandstand no body jaga overnight and the chairs are all dirty. Ang moh got to be gentleman and take out hankerchief to wipe seats for the ladies.
Singaporeans smart, they walk to the nearest flyer distributor to ask for a stack to use a a liner for the seats. haha.
I actually got a 4 day trade pass, wanted to take good shots of the A380 over the 4 days. but i go 1 day very sian liao.
Now skin peeling like dunno what. thanks to sun. -

EADS gave out the A380 poster at Hall A.. Ended up the human traffic there cannot move cos ppl stop to get the poster -

Guys, this is an aviation trade show not an aviation enthusiast's airshow. Hence you get many exhibitors packing up on the public days and not really keen to entertain the public.
Nevertheless, the organisers should have arranged for at least one aerobatics display team to come. Maybe they are not willing to pay good money. But at least the Black Knights should show up (like AA2000) and support their local show.
If you can afford it, go to USAF Edwards AFB airshow (biggest in USA) and the Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford (biggest in Europe). Those are pure military airshows for enthusiasts. Definitely worth it. -
