as for the MRLS, they will only enjoy any advantage at the start of the campaign especially in a pre-emptive strike...this is because they cannot provide a sustain rate of fire for a prolong period like the tube artillery.... that is why your govt bought the G5s....after the first strike, the servicablitilty rate will increase at an increasing rate due to lack of rockets, spare parts replacement on the field..... and how many MRLS are you talking about here..... this is merely a weapon system..... not something which can sway the outcome of the battlefield decisively... i would not have so much confidence in it if i were you if i know the capabilities and most importantly the limitations to the system.... -

Laughably, we can easily recall incidents when their farmers saw RMAF aircraft flying overhead and though it was the RSAF intruding onto their airspace, more laughably, the Malaysian goverment actually believed it also took up the protest to Singapore! Protesting their own planes flying over their own airspace! Typical sia!
It's no surprise they think one weapons system can win the war, actually they are only help us by misusing and deploying their units.

Exactly my words brudder... The idea of being overwhelmed by Singapore is so contray to Malaysian pride that some here rather believe anything and pull amazing battle plans from thin air. Reminds me of the time Saddam was so sure he could win the gulf war by over-simplistic plans like firing on Israel and even more poppycock plans like capturing American soliders and strapping them onto T-72s. Needless to say, these plans did not work, as will the great ASTRO plan/disaster proposed by some people to whom logic is a scarce resource.
I dun believe there is a dumb enemy, but it does help if they do. -

It took the Yom Kippur War to bring Israel back to reality.

The Egyptian President Anwar Sadat had put the recovery of the lost Sinai Peninsula as a priority, so as to galvanize the Egyptian National Spirit to greater achievements.

Their goals were met.

I like what the Israelis did in the Yom Kippur war though. After achieving air supremacy, they flew a special mission JUST to tell Sadat to wake up his Idea. Just imagine this, Morning, Air raid sirens blaring in Egypt, 2 F-4Es fly past Sadat's residence at supersonic speed at low level. Generating Sonic Booms loud enough to shatter windows. Sadat must be really deaf in order not to get the message the Israelis were sending.

n those astros are only 4 saturation attacks...they cant be aimed accurately..plus..their major logistical weaknesses...they may launch the 1st strike..n we may absorbe it..

another thing, RMAF operates so many types of aircraft in so few numbers. . do they have certain standardised parts or something?? else why so many different types of passenger transport plane and so few of each? and why ONE A-109??? logistics will cock up worse then i thought. . .

What concerns me is their AEW capability. I mean, its about time they get something like that... but it worries me to know that they will have AEW aircraft too. With those, they will be able to vector intercepts more efficiently than in the past.
Looks like our next fighter to replace the Tigers and Skyhawks might be a platform that packs some pretty heavy jamming gear.
