Ur MRCA is nth , onli a part of ur country's modernisation which is intend to be done more than 5 years ago. For this 5 yrs u malaysian are lacking while Singapore had her quantem leap into being a even more crediable force in the region. Once u annouce ur MRCA , Singapore will annouce our 4th generation MRCA ( it will be 24 aircraft then 48 then later 70
), dun forget that our numbers cum technology expands and improve very fast .
Ur MRCA is even nth , when singapore will be purchasing every aircraft malaysia buys. We will obtain the same aircraft but then get the better version or upgrade it ......( we have lots of $ dun worry abt Singapore getting a inferior MRCA ). Now with the same aircraft , with better technology , and with better training on our side ~ Singapore boleh ~!
*note : i havent mention abt stockpiles of new generation long range cum short range air-defense system that singapore can obtain. -

You must remember that while Singapore seeks to be sensible and level-headed in regional issues, not every country around or up north shares the same talent for having their head on screwed correctly. Hence the requirements for a defensive forces on whose main plan is a proactive offensive defense.

The F-5 is actually more like an interceptor than a fighter. And all interceptors have afterburners and can go to supersonic speeds. Not to mention high rate of climb.

Actually the best defense , is when conflict ( note that i use the word ''conflict'' not ''war'' ) is waged without a single lost on your side yet a victory is easily secured. One word for it ~ Deterrence.

War could be fought in many ways , eg economical / pychological warfare can be use to secure victory effectively. That is the reason y our total defence policy do contain economic and social defence. -
MiG-29M2(MRCA) -
Is the MRCA equal to the MiG-29SMT? The SMT kicks ass, almost equal to the F-16 Block 50/52. Glass cockpit, 3 MFDs. Glass cockpit and the number of MFDs sure make a difference in a fighter' pilot's abilities.
All you need is to touch the screen, and the sheer number of MFDs allow u to mult-manage so much more at a time.
What about PGMs? Can the MRCA use weapons like LGB, GBUs or Popeyes equivalents? -

Does our F-16s have ALQ-131? Some pictures in the unofficial RSAF webpage show some of our F-16s training in the Peace Carvin programme having that system fitted onto their undercarriage hardpoint.

Not officially. The ALQ-131 in Canon or Luke are on loan from USAF, (eg. during the Red Flag exercise, etc). Rumours have it that RSAF does have some electronic jamming equipment, but what sort is a secret. One interesting observation about the F-5S Tigers, eventhough one of the 20mm gun was removed to make way for the radar and avionics, ST Aero chose to replace the slot with a "fake" gun barrel. Does that make them more "scary"????? I won't why not just cover the starboard side gun hole completely covered?

From my understanding, the Block52 package comes with the ALQ-131 or ALQ-184. If ours were really moded by the Israelis, then it the range of jammers we have might include the SPS-3000 or the ELta EL/L-8240 ECM. -

What has happened to the 7 F-16A/B? MINDEF has converted one F-16A to a technological demostration aircraft. What about the remaining six? Has ST upgraded any of our F-16 to showcase their Falcon One programme?
