Long-range offensive weapons for Singapore.

Wats ur opinion of the possibility that Singapore will be a potential purchaser of Stand-off missiles , Ballistic Missile (SRBM ) and MLRS systems.
If so , wat in ur view are the different system available to satisfy Singapore's requirement. -
my position is.... DONT BUY.....
i believe that ST can assemble one such missile based on all its current available technology...
such a missile can use proven tech that the ST are already manufacturing... such as...
Guidance system: SPIKE combine with UAV like Firefly..
Warhead: SPIKE or DPICM cargo rounds... NAPALM?
Engine: LALEE
Dont have to be damn high tech... acceptable accuracy will do just fine...
Most IMPORTANTLY... the cruise missile must be cheap and can be mass produce by the thoudsands!!!.... with ranges exceeding 500km at least...
In fact... why bother to have a guidance system??!! just make millions of those bastards, tip it with NAPALM, point them the right direction and fire all of them altogether into malaysia... and VIOLA... a sea of FIRE.... cum... mass destruction!! -
Singapore once expressed interest in buying a russian SRBM... i think its the ss21 or something. range i remember is 120km... something to do with what some minister said about SAF's "silver bullets"(special secret weapons for use in extreme circumstances).

With technology to build the firefly and the lalee , very obvious , we have the technology to build stand-off weapon in large scale. All singapore have to do is to have a technology transfer from a ally country and then we will reproduce the stand-off weapons like hamsters.I have 2 Cruisemissile in mind that Singapore may purchase with the current technology and plateform. One is the HAVE LITE and the other is the Harpoon block 2.
Any body have any idea whelther is singapore considering MLRS and SRBM systems. If so , which system? -
I have heard that the Singapore Artillery already have rocket launchers. This is when I have asked about having missile launchers, this person said that missile dun have but we do have rockets. Anyone with reliable info can help to prove this?

Hey check out the russian Tos-1 220mm MRLS system.. really mean looking machine. Its mounted on a t-72 chassis. Unfortunately no tech. specs on it were ever released.

i cannot confirm for you directly... because i was not directly involved in that project... but i believe that if SAF dont wanna say it.. we should keep a lid on it...
and YOU should tell that bugging loud mouth who told you about it to go and shut his mouth up before the MSD shut it for him... -
New counterbattery radars? Hmm, yes, our TPQ-36 and 37s are getting long in the tooth. Maybe the new -47 version would be purchased? What are the other contenders you guys think have a chance?

For wat i know , some secrets are purposely to be open , for deterrence purposes. I believe if malaysian need the infomation , i believe they have better methods than coming to this website. I agree that we should keep our tone down in some issues especially those that are not found under reading leisure. However i will find that if the info comes from anyone in the SAF while interviewed , then in this case i believe the info is most likely cleared .
But if you come across any infomation during ur NS or in regular service which u know jolly well it is labelled as classified , then i suggest it shd not be out in here.
For our security sake , we shd be careful to distinguise leisure facts to classified materials. ha~! -

Malaysia wil raise hell, along with almost all other regional countries, and US will never agree to sell, at least not in forseeable future, no one else has cruise missile in the region except maybe South Korea, which is some distance away, and what they have got is the SLAM-ER which has a range of 277.95km (though it is air-launched and so can reach anywhere pretty fast also)

From my last reading about Tomahawk, it cost approxmately US$1million a shot. Harpoon 2B is probably only about a 10th of that cost. Check the FMS sites.... !!!!
BTW, Tomahawk is only cleared from 1 foreign country, and that's not even Israel. UK is the only country outside US that can purchase the Tomahawk. I cannot confirm if they have exercised that. Australia is interested (at some point), but the cost is prohibitive and thus, till now has not requested the US for clearance. But I'm sure if ADF want some and the budget can support that, Australia would get the Tomahawks. As for Singapore, nearly zero chance.
The best is for DSO/DSTA to come up with a cruise missile version of LALEE that can be dropped by both the Vipers and the new gen fighters (which I am hoping the Rafales would be chosen). -

Those on wheels seems to require some kind of static deployment in static position. That is definately not ideal...
another thing to consider is the height the radome can reach. the taller the faster the detection. am i right? -
