IMO.......the spy network of SG (if there is) has to be in tip top secrecy so that it can keep out nosy ppl LIKE US who are so info-savy about stuff that's retricted and can even compromise national security.....
if this forum is a highly-classified military intranet and we are VIPs having the triple password access to it.....maybe we'll know more stuff....... sadly, it's only public domain...... accessible to any form of tom dick or harry... to land as far as the middle-earth...

If any of u guys were ever posted to intelligence units for NS, you'll know that there are a few Units that are not officially listed in SAF, they help to form the intelligence backbone of the SAF and in turn SIngapore. There's more to it than we know.

yep! he used to be head of SID. There was a website specialforces.com or something which says that there are 2 intelligence agency in singapore, ISD and SID. Some information in the Public Domain can be "dis-information".
If noticed, it is best kept the way it is; let "sleeping dogs lie".
The more we publicize and impress with our knowledge of general information from Weapon Manufacturers, it will do no harm to Singapore, but will definitely be instructive to "The Other Side" on the number of experts Singapore has.
However, if we should indulge into SAF weapon systems by posting from "PERSONAL EXPERIENCE" or " PERSONAL ENCOUNTERS" during In-Camp Training, we can only be helping "The Other Side" with up-dated information. -

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is to launch a satellite of Singapore. This will be the 5th foreign satellite to be launched by ISRO.
The Antrix Corporation of the Department of Space and the Nanyang Technological University of Singapore have signed an agreement in this regard.
The satellite, a remote sensing 100 kg class micro X-SAT being developed by the Nanyang Technological University is for earth observation and imaging in visible spectral bands. The satellite will be used for land and coastal observations employing multi-spectral imaging. The three-axis stabilized spacecraft will have deployable solar panels. It will be launched by ISROÂ’s time-tested polar satellite launch vehicle PSLV during one of its forthcoming missions. The Antrix Corporation will also provide the Singapore University with the necessary support for testing the satellite.
The Corporation provides launching services for foreign satellites using ISROÂ’s PSLV. The other foreign satellites launched by ISRO earlier were Proba of Belgium, Bi9rd and DLR-TUBSAT of Germany and Kitsat-3 of Korea.
PSLV has been launching mainly Indian remote sensing satellites weighing upto 900 kg in polar orbit. Its modified version i.e. the PSLV C-4 for the first time put into orbit the Metsat an exclusive meteorological satellite weighing upto 1200 kg in September last. It was also the first time that the PSLV was used successfully for launching a satellite into the geostationary transfer orbit. -

Yup.. its true some were posted to those "Dark units". These pple need high security clearance.... CAT1 and above..not CAT1(lighting ). They are bound by internal security acts and they can't say much... Hmmm.... Wat they do?... u guys take it that they are to safeguard our nation... so u people won't caught off guard.... -

Unless it is a "Field Operative" job, most of the guys posted to sensitive units would be the better educated kids from the "well connected" people of Singapore Society.
The guys that get to be posted to such "soft" units would be the kids from the 'Top Income' Groups of Singapore.
The wealthy families, whose son if ever injured, will be in a serious position to cause MINDEF alot of embarrassment and discomfort.
Such rich kids are oftern labelled "White Horse", and normally assigned to "soft jobs" but still respectable.
They are normally placed out of harm's way - in the military jobs such as being a Clerk, Draftsman, assigned a Private's job at G5, or S1, or S2 departments, or some "soft jobs" at HQ. -
