  US burning their $B (aka printing money) is good for SG as it lowers the exchange rate. So something that cost S$200 last time only cost S$120 today. That's partly how we have managed to stretch our defence dollars.

  Hope you guys are still around. Just keep posting to keep military ideas alive.

  Having 1 aircraft carrier will increase military expenses but acceptable if it is within controlled budget. Amphibious assault ship would be useful  ideal for multi-role task than conventional catapult launch carrier for SG. RSAF could consider F-35B V/STOL variant as replacement for some of the old F-5s. It could field numbers of AH-64s.

  Reason for carrier, in case of war, you might need to attack invaders holding ground on nearby island allowing you to choose unexpected landing point for the ground forces. Also, in case of land airbases unable to deploy fighters should invading force able to field artilleries in nearby island that is only 6miles away. In NK artillery assault on SK case, the SK Airforce could not destroy the artillery as the NK would hide them underground after firing.

  PM announced at ND rally 2013 that PLAB will shift to CAB from 2030 allowing for PLAB redevelopment!

  Also, USAF commander PACAF confirmed RSAF has selected the F-35B.
