Probably the landing gear would need some serious work at the very least if not total change. New ejection seats and canopy is a must. Wonder how much damage the cockpit suffered from the rocket motor of the 2 NACES SJU-17 seats firingOriginally posted by bcoy:Both pilots ejected it seems - what extensive repairs needed?
How can a canopy of a plane be intact after an ejection is beyond me. In ejections the canopy is either blown off by a small explosive charge before the seats are fired with the pilots in them milliseconds later (eg F-16) or a suitably large headrest is used to shatter the canopy when the ejection seat fires (eg A-6 Intruder). Its not like WWII planes where a pilot can open the canopy before leaping out of his striken plane.Originally posted by |-|05|:canopy looks intact leh....
way man u're right! ahhaOriginally posted by foxtrout8:there is a white car at the background which realli look like a canopy of the bug........interesting...
no it's broken any everything like thatOriginally posted by trainner:"From a fleet of 20 units MIG-29, now down to 16 units.
From a fleet of 8 Boeing F-18, now only 7. "
get your figures right!
it is from 18 MiG-29s to 17 MiG-29
and that hornet an be fixed.
its just a minor damage.
that hornet can still be used. its not broken or anything like that.
nope, the Bug's tyres arent made in Malaysia.Originally posted by Anza Andy:The tyre must be made in Malaysia.
i think the pilot ejected despite already landing because maybe the bug couldnt stop in time and it could have crashed into something-like a fence.Originally posted by EXCO:Accidents happen, but that will not help RMAF's track record and image. I wonder why did the pilot eject. AC looks relatively in good condition...
- If the pilot ejected before touchdown, I doubt the plane would still be looking like that.
- If the pilot ejected after touchdown, what forced him to eject rather than stay with the plane (which is already safely on the ground)? It would take a serious problem to make the pilot risk the ejection.
what makes you think they dont have good response teams?Originally posted by |-|05|:what they need is a good respond team for crashes!
even though it is made in malaysia, the crash wasnt the rubbers fault, it was the main landing gear's problem.Originally posted by SingaporeTyrannosaur:The tire must be made of malaysian rubber...
