The Condors are 4 wheeled APCs used by infantry units. Very similar in class to the V150/200 series, made in Germany. Malaysia used them in Somalia, 4 were lost to RPGs. Tech details -Originally posted by foga:wat exactly are the Condors and Stomers that malaysia have?

you're right. The book/film Black Hawk Down was focussing more on Task Force (TF) Ranger.....the failed operation to capture Aideed.Originally posted by jammed:if i'm not wrong, Condors were the APCs M'sia's UN element used to rescue the US Rangers in Mogadishu (Black Hawk Down)
They went under UN. When the UN recieved news that US troops surrounded, they told the Malaysian troops to go help.Originally posted by SingaporeTyrannosaur:What on earth was Malaysia doing in Mog anyway?

for anti-armour specialist role.
The Phillipines uses such a turret on their V150s with ST's 40mm AGL.Originally posted by Joe Black:I would like to propose how SAF could further upgrade our AIFVs to make them one of the best, if not the best, AIFV fleet.
I believe SAF can further improve the M113 40/50 with this upgrade V-150 turret ...
ya i saw it before...Originally posted by bcoy:The Phillipines uses such a turret on their V150s with ST's 40mm AGL.
I believe the M113s and the Ultras still have useful life in them, may not neccessary be as troop carriers. Their weapons systems could be upgraded and new roles for these machine to play.Originally posted by bcoy:As the Bionix replaces the M113 in our armour units - what will happen to these M113s?
Donated, sold off? Used as weapons platforms or basic APC for selected infantry units?
Likely replacement for the V200s should be the Terrex Av81.
Well Bionix is designated IFV where M113 Ultra is designated APC, different use lay. M113 still has lots of useful live left and lots of countries still use it to date. Even the current iraqi war the yakees still deploy a lot of M113 APC.Originally posted by bcoy:As the Bionix replaces the M113 in our armour units - what will happen to these M113s?

Malaysia, should be replacing their 4x4 APCs with 6x6 or 8x8 ones. Maybe from Finland.
In the same magazine (Military Techology), Indonesia is reported to be looking for used AMX13 tanks as well.
