What is US Marines training like?

  Well, the much vaunted US marines have been in the news lately. I do know that they are amphibious trained infantry. One of their unofficial mottos is : "Once a marine, always a marine".
  
  Any idea what's their BMT and subsequent training like to justify that boast?
  
  Anywayz, i'm aware that the SAF armour also has a similar motto
