You can leave after 4 years without needing to pay back all the $$$ but still be liable for NS.After 5 you are a free man and free to go.However since your contract is 10 years they have the ablility to not accept your resignation if they are short of manpower! By the way which branch you applied for? my is navy -
hmmm -|05|-, i think its not true..... its written on the contract that if we break the bond b4 4 yrs then we will be require to pay the damages. otherwise we can just Leave hehe after 1 more yr of ns hehe

ADF stand for Army Deployment Force n mostly r regulars..ADF r the present standing forces goin for peace keeping either in Timor Leste or anywhere the UN nid n the govt think its ok to go..
there is the 10 years bond n also the 4 years Bond...
10years bond r those tat u nid to serve 6 years before u can leave..
4 years one...is diff...ur rank will onli reach CPL..n onli get 1.4k per mth..before tat they will give u a lump sum of7.5k ang bao money..
if ur performace is gd.n u like Army life..they will offer u ur premier plan(10 year) -

It's 4 year bond during the 4 years you can leave but must pay them back with interest. but since 2 days as a regular is considered 1 day in NS u need to serve 5 years of it before you considered cleared NS.If you quit before hand you gotta go back to NS for 6 months.The contract is 10 years but bond is 4 nia.You can leave lah but it's up to them to let you go 1......mostly they will let you off though or so my fren who is already in the navy said.But he say training is hell for the 1st 4month sailing duty.

i got many frds in 1st SIR also....
got some from the 1st SIT unit who won the Best Combat Units years back and they are god damn fit sia -

guys i went to cmpb again then the guy at the counter told me ADF is only a short term contract.. u either be a rifleman or driver..not those that goes to east timor .. is it true?

the peacekeeper are mostly regular..n part of them r taken frm ADF
if im not wrong the 1st batch to Timor Leste was made of Cdos n Guards regular not ADF rifleman
but after tat batch SAF took mostly ADF pple..tats y when pple tok abt ADF they will always think of peacekeeper
