How do RSN's ability & fleet fare against the RMN's(M'sia Navy)
M'sia does have bigger ships and more manpower dont they? But in terms of fighting capability wise, I'm not so sure man... -

I tink RSN wld beat RMN flat out in terms of outright confrontation ...
Thou our weaponary pales in comparison to RMN, we have better WCS(Weapon Control System) ... in fact we have beaten many navies(including US) in wargames during many exercises ...
Not obliged to reveal too much here but in view of the incident involving Courageous, It reveals that RSN shld not be too cocky oso ... After all, machines are still machines, wars are fought by man and a slip up/ loss of concentration would result in .... (hai) -
With over whemming air support , survellience , undersea and surface combatant , surely we can beat the RMN . The RMN is not impressive at all if u will to know that the Malaysian SLOC is rather big. The RSN is an intensively train force with navies of other countries , our capacity have been tested in excercises and our might have been publically shown in annually live firing demostrations.

sory huys, i just surf thru the MAF webby this morn and not much details of their armed forces and navy thus i tot i could know more abt their naval strength thru this thread... never ment to create words war or insults...

Not much chance of the RMN misbehaving in this region as long as the big bad americans are here.
On a lighter note, the RMN, like the rest of their forces, will have our airforce to worry about. And with old seawolf sams, they're in serious trouble. -

a question....
why isit stated that the fearless class PVs are armed with gabriel ASM??
even if it is possible to arm the PVs with ASMs... why not arm them with harpoons rather then the gabriels ... especially after reviewing the fact that the RSN MGBs actually gave up its gabriels to be armed with the longer range harpoon....
if the PVs are armed with harpoons.... we could have 11 additional harpoon toting craft backing up our corvettes and MGBs...
the combine hapoons missile carried by the RSN would then easily exceed 160 harpoons... more then enough to drown the entire malaysian navy in a massive waves after waves of harpoons using OTH guidance from the Fokker 50 (which also carry harpoons and torps) or the E-2C hawkeyes that could be escorted by dozens of A-4s or Falcons that could also be toting harpoons as well....
combine RSAF and RSN... the RMN would quickly sink into the depths......

Our Air force will fight hand in hand wid our navy and will destroy malaysian navy in no time and soon, the sky and high seas will be ours
then we will send in amphibous forces of 3 Guards and an infantry regiment via south china sea into east malaysia
out artillery will bombard johor before our infantry rushes in to march up north towards KL
1Guard will then move in at western part of malaysia at klang and it will be like the battle of baghdad
our CDOs will then airborne at northern malaysia and the whole malaysia will then be ours -
oh... by the way... with STs experience in naval platforms... i would surmise that it should not be too difficult nor time laborius a task to make some changes to the PVs to carry harpoons right?? especially if its just to make the PVs a mere brainless lauching platform....?

Sir , Garbiel is a very important plateform to engage enemy vessel in packed straits and seas around our area. It can be manually guide to the target with its cruise level changable with the wave level.Originally posted by tripwire:a question....

In terms of long range strike , the MGB/MCVs and Fokker50s will provide that cover and with Hawkeye for over the horizon targeting. However in terms of running with the crowds , the Garbiel will be ideal. -
I find that the Mistral system shd go , or at least intergrate Barak VLS on the PVs ( 8 maybe ). Maybe space is a problem , but with innovation , we still can intergrate it .
Our navy is undoubtfully strong in the region of SEA, however there are some weaponary which should be replace to meet the growing regional naval powers
I believe new corvettees such as the Visby can replace our Fearless class Missile PVs , and new torpedoes to arm our ships. Torpedoes such as the ADCAPs can greatly increase our undersea warfare capability. Submarines such as the Israeli Dolphin Class or even the Russian Kilo SSK can be purchase to deal with the Scropene ( it will be great if the Submarine have Cruisemissile capability ).

Surely wat i said isnt a dream , it have some facture considerations on it. Singapore was once extremely interested with the Visby , the PVs will have to go one day ( 5 to 10 yrs time?? )so.... Our Submarine force is still at infancy , new plateforms should have been evaluated. It isnt a dream , but a question of when will the replacement be made , wat will be the weaponary......... -
