I've seen Humvees in Thailand (military) and Australia (civilian) and, my God, Bismark is rite... It's a damn huge car which totally fills up the lane. Suffice to say, if the car has a glove box, u would not want to put anything in there cos u can't reach the passenger seat from the driver's seat unless u are made of rubber. No pictures or images does this monster any justice.... u have to see it in the flesh!Originally posted by bismarck:anyway it's a bloody wide car.![]()
The H2 is cheaper as it is a civilian make....the H1 is ex but u might be able to classfiy it as a vanOriginally posted by bismarck:for those dreaming of buying humvee/hummer
the things u have to pay.the road tax and diesek tax
Engine Capacity
Engine Capacity (EC) Road Tax Formula* (per annum)
EC £ 600 cc $400
600 cc < EC £ 1,000 cc $400 + 0.25 x (EC - 600)
1,000 cc < EC £ 1,600 cc $500 + 0.75 x (EC – 1,000)
1,600 cc < EC £ 3,000 cc $950 + 1.5 x (EC – 1,600)
EC > 3,000 cc $3,050 + 2.0 x (EC – 3,000)
* Effective from 1 September 2002.
Example:
If your car's engine capacity is 1600 cc (ie EC = 1600), the road tax will be as follows:
Road Tax = $500 + 0.75 x (1600 - 1000)
= $500 + 0.75 x (600)
= $500 + 450
= $950
For Diesel-driven cars
Diesel tax is payable in addition to the road tax.
The diesel tax is 6 times the road tax of an equivalent petrol-driven car.
taken frm Lta website..
so ex....pay thru the nose for the car.

i agree. my mum is 1 dumb driver.Originally posted by zigzag:Erm.... I hope u guys aren't serious about wanting civilian humvees on singapore roads, are u? Can u imagine trying to squeeze one of these monsters into a parking lot in a multi-storey carpark in Singapore??? I don't think the driver of the Nissan March next to u would be happy to find half of your humvee sitting on top of his car....
Besides, knowing the typical Singaporean's logic for large cars (Beemers, Mercs, etc.), a large majority of Humvees will be driven by 'tai-tai's who can't even see over the dashboard. probably wouldn't even notice anything if they drove over a motorcyclist...
Before i kena flame, let me say that I AM NOT A SEXIST!.... it's just that my mom drives, and it scares the crap out of me everytime i ride in her car. let's just say the words "signalling" and "Check blind-spot" do not exist in her driving vocabulary. The car's dashboard still has my fingernail scratch marks.
