Doing strength training on my arms.I can lift 3.6kg dumbbells on each of my arm for 100times(200 total) before a 5 minute rest and continuous. Should I upgrade to a heavier dumbbell?
In NS, you need endurance, rather than physical burst strength. Yeah, you can do 101 chin ups at the bar, but 2.4km run fail, you still fail the whole thing. Army want thinking soldiers, not incredible hulks.
i am balancing both my running training and strength training.Right now,my runs are far better than my strength. I can barely manage 5 chin-ups now,so the need to train for arm strength.Furthermore,I tend to do poorly in my strength segment in Napfa than the running segment
alright, how many repetitions can you do in one arm before a rest?I am not sure whether i am up for 8 but i can go with 6.
If you wanna train pull-up, just do more pull-up. Dumb-bells won't get you far because pull-up also uses other muscle groups depending on how you do it.

Do crossfit training. It really helps in improving your ippt. Worked for me though. First time i did crossfit i puked. :)
I used to be able to curl 20kg dumbbells while active in NS :(
if you training for pull-up... then do pull up...
Don't do much of exercise, half an hour is more than sufficient. Rather you should do running practise more and more to increase your stamina and efficiency.
