Looking at the Economic side, they are very dependent on the neighbours, China. All trade agreements are with China, and not only that food is provided to them by the UN and the long-time rivals South Korea…
Where is the gratefulness???
Never mind that, looking at the military prepardness of the North Korean army what do they have??? They have 1.6 million active personnel and 8.2 million reserve personnel.
In terms of numbers, the US are outnmbered, because the US have only 1.4 million active personnel and 0.85 million reserve personnel. How about missiles?? What do the US have??? 172 types of missiles to be launched by the armed forces, 76 types of missiles to be launched by the Air force and 74 types of missiles to be launched by the Navy…. So what do the North Koreans have a mere 10 missiles and of the 10, 2 are un tested leaving them with 8 types of missiles…
I thinks its mere suicide, what are your views??
If USA don't dare to make the first move, it shows that they are very capable already.
North Korea's War Strategy of Massive Retaliations against US Attacks

THE REALITY OF MISSILE DEFENSE
WASHINGTON (AP) _ When the subject is whether the United States needs a missile defense system, Rep. Mark Kirk harks back to a haunting night in the Pentagon's intelligence center.
As a Naval Reserve lieutenant commander, Kirk was the sole Navy man on duty when North Korea unexpectedly launched a test missile in 1993.
``Suddenly an alarm went off,'' Kirk, R-Ill., said recently of that sweat-soaked night. A dozen terrifying minutes passed before officials concluded the missile was not a threat.
Kirk was horrified that only two options were available in case of a real attack to let a U.S. city be destroyed and millions of Americans be killed with no response, or to retaliate and kill millions of foreigners as well.
Like Kirk, other lawmakers and administration officials, holding fast to the idea that experience is a great teacher, often cite their backgrounds and trips to far-flung lands to bolster their views on missile defense.
In Kirk's case, since that night in the Pentagon, he has advocated a third option: knocking the incoming missile out of the sky...

Around mid-1990 I also read an official ranking of military powers across the globe.
At that time President Bush Sr. stated that Iraq had the “fourth largest” force in the world. However, classified US Army analysis indicated that Iraq wasn’t even in the top ten in terms of strength – but North Korea was.
The Army had concluded even then, when Iraq had a far stronger military than it does now, that North Korea was a more powerful enemy.
In other words, North Korea is, and has been for many years, the threat that the US government has been making Iraq out to be.
Furthermore, while Saddam Hussein was our ally in the Middle East for many years, North Korea has always been our enemy – an enemy that’s been killing our soldiers and threatening invasion of South Korea for 50 years…

If U.S can invade and attack Iraq and other states, I don't see why DPRK can't attack the U.S.
It is because when U.S. attacks a state, that state did not hit the U.S. mainland, that caused U.S. to commit aggression again and again. They get cocky, their mainland is safe.
If war breaks out between DPRK and the U.S., I will fully support the DPRK.

North Korea, is getting increasingly frustrated with US, after all, it takes two hands to clap but a hand to slap. USA, with it's highly-publicized game with NK, like sanctions and flying some jet over the South, is doing nothing but provoking NK to make the first move. South Korea, on the other hand, has a really stupid and naive government and shouldn't allow the US to take care of it's military affairs. After all, USA doesn't really aims to promote world peace(look at Africa, who cares about the warlords?) and democracy, they are only serving their own interest. Asia, who has been prospering and developing so fast and US is afraid that it might fall from their positions as the world top economy.
After the war, only the Koreans (both South and North) suffers the most devastating effects and their innocent lives getting ripped apart by war, and even if Asia didn't fully participate in it, their economy will take a down-turn, and once again, glorifying the most hypocritical nation in the world, the USA, who owned the most number of nukes then the world combined, who killed the Red Indians, enslaved the blacks, and still dares to talk about NK human rights and nukes. It's like having a teacher, who smokes and beats up people, and tell me not to smoke and beat up people. This feels a lot like the repeat of LON(league of nations), where France invades Germany, and the League did not take actions against them. If US interferes in the Korean war, I will never support their side nor the other side. They only want to benefit their own economy, by selling weapons, at the cost of Koreans citizens.

You think the US is bad? North Korea is way much worse. It is not a country, it’s a cult gone mad. Do you think having every radio and table and chair in Pyongyang labelled “Given by the generosity of Kim Jong Ill” is normal or sane? Except that it is now Kim Jong Un.
Or “people throw themselves into the sea to welcome the glorious leader” is normal?
The US may be idiots and a bunch of cockups, but NK is a wackjob on a totally different scale, and to prefer it over the US, you are either ill-informed, rabidly anti-US or love to be brainwashed.
Tiger, most believe it is just more of the NK blackmailing the SK for more aid and money. It’s like someone having a gun saying “Give me your money or I’ll shoot”. I wonder what people call that kind of behaviour. It is not the US that is being held hostage though, it is SK.
My perspective lah, please respect it.

Hey, where did you get that information?? By watching documentaries? You brainwashed fool, you are no better "informed" than anyone here bashing the US. As for the part of people throwing themselves to sea, where did you get it? You visited the state or have a video to prove it?

see below for an introduction to U.S. foreign policy strategy since 1945, U.S. are not idiots, there are well thought out principles behind the foreign policy of the U.S:
Peter Gowan on U.S. foreign policy since 1945

North Korea is way much worse.
but North Korea didn't commit aggression on the scale of the U.S. How can you call it worse?
U.S. is worse than DPRK in aggressive moves. No one doubts that. They shamelessly invaded Iraq based on lies.
http://williamblum.org/books/killing-hope/
U.S. thinks that they are the sole superpower, they can attack other countries and impose their dictates at will, North Korea dares to stand up and reject the U.S. bully and whack them.
What's wrong with that? If North Korea doesn't deal sternly with the U.S., they will only end up like Grenada, Panama, Iraq, Libya, Yugoslavia and Afghanistan.

Clone? WTH are you talking?
Kim Jong Un is just trying to create a legacy for himself, holding on to military power so that no one can challenge him politically.

lol. I don't think it will lead to WWIII. If North Korea and U.S. want to fight, let them fight among themselves. China and Russia shouldn't interfere. They should "sit on top of the mountain to watch the tigers fight".
10 years ago when U.S. invaded Iraq, there was also no WWIII.
take so long also havent fight.
US not scared. just that to start fighting officially they need to have the north koreans really ffiring teh first round. if tehre's no UN no china, US long time alrady start kicking ass already.
yo just wait. once NK fire the first missile targeted at any cities or military base, US will retaliate in full force.
cannot start a war for no reason - must have a reason. army fight easy, politicians have the media peope to answer to. as long as can answer, army can do what they want later.
NK - show US show teh world what you got.
HOOT lah please - wait so long later we all becum like your fatty size how.
U.S. Delays Missile Test Over Tension With North Korea
