hi joe, i have been living for the past 4 yrs in NZ.... I saw the local news abt this 'missile'. It is of crude design. very much different from the one build by the aussies couple of months back. I know what these kiwis are capable of. believe me i would not call that piece of junk metal build from one back yard a 'missile'...... don't read too much into kiwi ingenuity..... there isn't one to speak off in the 1st place..

yeah you know what...... i can quickly turn this post into a anti-nz posting..... bcos i can think of so many negative thing abt NZ that people in spore don't know abt..... i can share it with you if you people are interested....... but for the moment, all i will say is that sporeans think that NZ is a god-send place.... for crying out loud!!!! once u are in NZ, you will find there is a big big difference btw your expectations and your experiences......
anyway back to the topic..... i knew a few people from their defence force.... some regulars and some territorial....i cannot believe that they think that they are better train than the americans....... -
i've seen this nutcase before...
he's not kidding if he says he can build a cruise missile...
this guy has built things in his backyard that will scare anyone... if i remember correctly, he started building a jet engine... then he moved on.. started experimenting with ramjet and scramjet mechanics...
i think he actually built a scramjet and mounted the damned thing on a little buggy with steering... so he's got the world's first scramjet powered go-kart!
i won't put it past him to actually produce a missile one day! -
Actually missile making is not that complicated when you have a good grasp of chemistry to handle the propellant fuel, a good grasp of electronics to handle the guidance and controls, a good working knowledge of mechanics - especially in aerodynamics.
In the USA, there is a group of enthusiasts holding bi-annual competition on whose rocket can reach the highest altitude.
Add some modification, and the hobbyist rocket can easily turn into a guided missile. -
But to make the warhead...is another thing...

i was present at the town centre where they held a welcome home parade for those people that were coming back from timor leste....
i cannot believe what i saw from those kiwis soldiers....... come in all size and pattern...... one staff sgt has a beer belly so big KNN i tot he was pregnant
and yes they look sloppy..... uniform not iron.......out of size uniforms.....even the boy scouts are neater than them.........maybe one of these days, we should change the five-power defence arrangement to four power........ NZ is becoming a liability...... who knows... one day we might end up defending them!!!!!!!!! -

Well, NZ is actually relying on Aussies to protect them. You are absolutely right to the point about NZ military capabilities. OZs can't believe that they literally are going to be almost defenseless against any intrusion at all. Theoretically, a military force like the size of Singapore Armed Forces would be able to invade NZ at a reasonable cost - provided the logisitc and support is in place. NZ's only practical defense is their distant to the rest of the world. -
that is precisely why i view their 'achievements' with disdain....those ppl from kiwiland just think so highly of themselves...... if do not have that kind of capability don't pretend to have.........
i just got word that they are considering sending 60 people to iraq and another 100 to afganisthan.... i would like to see whether that Staff sgt would be send overseas.........

New Zealand security sucks. Their air force has been disbanded I believe and one of their intelligence service chiefs is a KGB agent.

ANZUS treaty is now pretty weak. US is not in the best of relations of NZ cos NZ stopped all nuclear powered and nuclear armed ships from entering their ports and all ships have to declare that they are neither nuclear armed nor powered. The US considers revealing which ships are nuclear powered or nuclear armed an open invitation for their most powerful ships to be sunk first the moment war breaks out. I doubt the Aussies can watch NZ being invaded without doing anything. NZ has little strategic purpose other than as a stepping stone from which one can invade Australia. So the next logical step after an invasion of NZ is an invasion of Australia, meaning the Aussies would be rather dumb not to defend NZ.
