War dun start like a fart. There are some classic features long before a war that the intelligence are train to detect . When those features are detected , we call that tension. When there is tension , oh boy u will expect our AMRAAM to be available within a day time. In fact Singapore without tension now is already very well armed , imagine if we have tension , our defence budget will raise and all kinds of fancy toys such as S-400 , Aegis , Popeye blah blah might be made available.Originally posted by SingaporeMacross:Can I ask something? Malaysian operative might be interested to know whelther do we have other BVR missiles such as Derby/Alto anotWha, maybe we should make this forum more busy to make their job harder.
We and Thailand will get to keep the AMRAAMs in-country soon. Prob around Sept or Oct. source is Jane's.Originally posted by laser51088:Thats d point, there really isn't a way. . .
IMHO, unless the war drags on, in which case we're prob gonna all die, the AIM-120C remain a deterrence only. Prob fly the missiles back on the returning F-16s?
wahahhahaha if they seriously used this forum as a source of info, we can start a war very quicklyOriginally posted by SingaporeMacross:Wha, maybe we should make this forum more busy to make their job harder.![]()
Well..hate to say this but..so will they, dude. Them air force has da bugs too, don't forgetOriginally posted by foxtrout8:we will to look at the sanction again , if im not wrong , the Americans will not release that missile unless a missile with similar capability is made available and found in our region. With that , once we have enough evidence that the MAF have the R-77 , i believe we will get back Amraam almost immediately.
more missles will increase weight therefore increasing the fuel load. in total, MTOW is doubled and fuel burn is wasted on the weight of fuel pods as well as missles.Originally posted by kukuchap:u peepz saw the RSAF commercial on TV? got one part they show the red missles binking on the wings of one of the F-16. there show 4 missles binking. From wat i know, there should be a total of 6 missles to be carried on a F-16 rite? how come only got 4?
btw, AIm-120 is not allowed to be stored in singapore rite even though we bought it from the US![]()
U have a point dude , but sometimes it is not that we dunno , but we dun wanna aknowlegde that we know.Originally posted by kanzer:if the aim-120c really come home, then that might be bad news. this might imply that TUDM does really have r-77. since the usual US practice is not to create a military imbalance in the region, by releasing those amraams, either the thai, spore or US intelligence have detected the presence of r-77s even though it has never been publicly acknowledge by TUDM.
Dun have to worry abt that Sir , they can have the hardware but then the software portion, they might not be better than us.Originally posted by IAF:Well..hate to say this but..so will they, dude. Them air force has da bugs too, don't forget
