IMO, that book just gave a very in-depth into SAF.
i really couldnt find much abt comparisions as mentioned by Wuming78. -

aiya, exact figures of armed forces are very hard to come by... even official figures may not be 100% accurate cos there are political sensitivities involved.
huxley's a good writer and a good researcher, and for want of a better source, i will use him as a very good starting point if i wanna have a deeper understanding of the armed forces in the region.
as an authoritative source of intelligence, i find it tantamount to claims that Iraq has a WND program that enables it to launch WMD within 45 mins and that it tried to buy uranium from africa...
using it as an intelligence source is as bad as using extracts from an unpublished masters thesis in a presentation to the UN security council...
so please lor... read it critically... don't be like those bone-head northerners. its like Japanese millitants before ww2 reading the first few chapters of Clauswitz and Von Moltke and taking everything literally to the extent that they became thoroughly sadistic and nihilistic... thats just plain stupid. -
well, the book is well written and interesting and it gives us a better understanding of our armed forces's capabilities... however, i believe the information inside may not be 100% true... no country will ever divulge it's true military capabilities because of the sensitivities involved...
i even heard that because this book got publish, singapore had to change a few tactical strategies... haha... is it true?
anywayz, if singapore really has those 60 tempest tanks, they had better start using it, otherwise, by the time the need to use them arises, their sprockets might have rusted too much for it to become immobile, not to mention other parts getting spoilt due to not being used for ages...

Dun worry alphanumeric, the SAF always keep our equiptment in good shape. Rusted sprocket wheels extremely rare!
