Did anyone catch it last night?
Any critiques?
A few pointers:
The personnel was on a speedboat. Terrorist also on a speedboat. Moving firing platform and moving target and managed to hit him with one shot.... I would expect him to fire repeatedly before hitting the target.
Don't they have boats on patrol? only when a "unidentified vessel" then they activate, grab their SAR21's off the rack and speed away. In real life that will probably be too late? Especially right after the Bali bombing, should have higher state of alert.
They have to defuse the bomb right next to one of RSN's biggest and newest vessel (one of our LST), can't they move the speedboad to somewhere more remote. -

IMO the plot was rather slow (and shows lack of military knowledge) and some of the acting rather wooden, but its the 1st episode...need time for character development. Give it 1 more week b4 judging...

It's kind of weird that the terrorist could be so sloppy to get drunk and fall outside a bar.
Forgive me if i'm wrong, but i was of the impression that terrorists had a little more self discipline and caution then to go get himself drunk. Especially when you're trying to make something as delicate as a bomb.
How in the world can you wake up immediately after being drunk, probably with a murderous hang over and immediately go make a bomb?
The storyline had potential, but obviously the director is an imbecile. -

I think NDU dun want to let Kelvin Tong show until too realistic, or else potential terrorists might get the *correct* idea.
On the civilian side, I was quite surprised to realize the DJ was a blind lady. Yet she was more responsive to the movie than others and she could walk, without a cane, along the road like nobody's business?!
The speedboat part, they should fire a few shots first. Water spraying left right of speedboat makes a better movie. More realistic too. -

in the 9/11 act, some of them actually when on spending spree,
visited adult-shows, bars,pubs, rented good cars for weeks before commencing their work.
So what makes this show any less "authentic" without showing too much Singapore's true security capacity ? -
Single shoot kill on a fast moving craft in not impossible in today's weaponry. Makes even more sense to avoid an all-out firefights in an international sealane crowded with dangerous cargo vessels like in Singapore's surroundings sea

Yeah... I really like the PC motherboard as a bomb. They put a lump of yellow plasterine (spelling) on the mother board... really look very amaeturish..... I think really very low budget. Actually, a few blinking LEDs that stop blinking when the disposal guy cut the wire will really hyped up the scene.
I think I know why they want to kill the sucide bomber with one shot. so that the bomber have no time to activate the bomb and the bomb and boat is intact and the show can "show off" the EOD team with the 30kg suit. -

What does revealing true security capacity have to do with this? You are making a show here, you don't neccessarily have to employ too much technical details in order to make the story exciting. All i have to do is show you the numerous terrorist shows Hollywood has done, they don't have to reveal much of their security capacity do they?

So what makes this show any less "authentic" without showing too much Singapore's true security capacity ?
I think the people who did this show have a poor idea on how to make a show on terrorism. Even the blind girl part was far more shocking than revealing the bomber. They're just more used to creating love stories than suspense film.
Seriously, wouldn't it be better to show the guy's room having some hate slogans hanging on his walls rather flashing it across the screen? -

show from a directoral point of view is bad.....too many characters introduced in too short time.1 hours and the introduced the dj,the cops,the jailbird and his sister and the terrorist(did i miss any?) all of whom have different things to do both in the show and with the show;at the same time it was trying to unveil the plot for us which makes for a rather "messy" show.
Oh and yea i agree.....how come they defuse the bomb within 200m of the RSN ship!!!i was really shocked when i saw that!Also 1 shot can kill??right.... -
To give the show some credit. I really like the teleconversation at the kopitiam. Very realistic and in-touch with the heartbeat of Singaporeans.
The "terrorists" video is very very amatuerish. I think three Sec School kids making a hoax video will do a better job.
Oh yeah.. I think the ex-con will somehow be implicated as he leaves his "fingerprints" on the glass in the bomb-maker's bomb. Yeah. quite stupid to work on a bomb while nursing a hangover.
The clock which Ix shen passed on the way to DJ's house will also play a part. Maybe a bomb put inside the clock?? -
One shot one kill on moving targets is possible if you have a good marksman... maybe that dude was like our version of The Hare...
I dun see properly, but I think he was using an M-16? Or was it an SAR-21? If it was the SAR-21, a person with a good idea of bullet lead times will be able to pop a moving target very easily because of the ease of shooting the weapon. It takes more skill with the M-16.
I like the way they shot the drama series, more like a film then the usual, dialouge and action packed shooting style we usually see in serials... They obviously wanted to make it more of a film-type story then the typical chinese drama.

As to why they want to defuse instead of blowing the bomb up, it is because they want to acertain whether it is terrorist or not?? then stupid. One crazy try to crash his speedboat on a naval base. You later on found a bomb inside.... still need someone to defuse and analyse and tell you it is terrorist. -
But in the previous scene, they all drew out SAR21, didn't they? And was the firer on a moving platform? Or did the boat stop before he fired?
Mike claimed that terrorists are more sophisticated. If they're terrorists, the package should be real. -
The rifle was an SR-21......but how to shoot and hit when target is moving unpredicatable and so are you/??it's not like you can stop and fire.....even if you did you'd still be moving up and down with the waves.....

The target is not moving unpredictably. He's clearly moving in a direction towards the base.
The filming of that part is really wayang. The gunsight? is clearly as steady as a rock -

how to shoot moving targets that are unpredictable? Get 7 guys to shoot in rapid at the same time. I don't believe won't hit.

Referring to those special forces, couldn't help noticing, were they wearing Israeli Orlite helmets, instead of our usual Kevlar ones? -

why kill the terrorists when you can shoot them and wound them n catch them alive? how come e entire STAr squad so bobo? take so long to kill? how come they are seen moving around taking up positions? i mean they should have placed themselves in good positions before e target arrive... cock show but i still watch -
