do more pull upsOriginally posted by duotiga83:i'm stuck at.....1 1/2 - 2![]()
really.. pushups does not help in chinups but helps building overall arm strength, which in the long run can help in chinups too.Originally posted by saintboy:As above! Some people tell me push ups are useless to prepare for your pull ups and they fail to help you pull more and some pple tell me that they do 20 pushups everyday can train their pull ups.
And also what are the faster ways to train your pullups? I'm stuck at 4...![]()
oh they do sell the chin up bar that can be easily installed at home without the need to drill holes into walls? where are they selling these? really want to get one and install at home! been slacking too much!Originally posted by saintboy:Thanx wuming78. Actually i have been doing lat pull downs in the gym because it trains the back which is the main muscle group for pull ups. I have another question here.Sorry for the many questions. Is pulling the bar behind your neck more effective than pulling to your chest?
By the way, 2383, go buy pull up bar and install it at home. Just pull everyday and you can do more eventually.I bought one, but now pull until the screw loose canont use it anymore

I bought my bar from the aibi shop at parkway parade! By the way i was not allowed drill it in! So i have to screw the rubber pads against the ledges to hold it . When i first bought it , i just pulled everyday! Whenever i walk past my door i feel like pulling then i just pull. That's why i can do 4 now. During May, I am still a Zero Fighter.Originally posted by wuming78:oh they do sell the chin up bar that can be easily installed at home without the need to drill holes into walls? where are they selling these? really want to get one and install at home! been slacking too much!![]()
Did you drill in your bar or is it screwed in? I bought my bar from aibi at 39.90. Now its spoilt!Originally posted by IAF:When i did RT last time, an encik PTI told us that no amount of pushups can help in chin-ups.
Perhaps you like to invest in a portable pull-up bar. i bought mine at SANWIN..the sports shop at Holland V. Cost me about $20 plus.
I started at one pull-up. Did one pullup for a week. Next week i increased to two..and so on. That's the way to do it. No shortcuts![]()
Hmmm...i'm not sure what is meant by drill or screwOriginally posted by saintboy:Did you drill in your bar or is it screwed in? I bought my bar from aibi at 39.90. Now its spoilt!Sad case. your 20 dollar bar still working good?
other than SANWIN and MUSTAFA where else in Singapore can I find such chinup bars?Originally posted by Atobe:Most chin up bars sold for home use will have three components:
one piece extendable bar with rubber suction on each end - ( the bar can be turned in any one direction to extend or shorten its length to fit any door way).
two end caps - each with at least 3 holes
one set of screws.
Both the end caps must be screwed into the doorway, after the preferred height level is determined, and that both are at the same height.
These two end caps will be where the end suction rubber of the extendable bar will be "held" in place.
Without these two end caps, the suction rubber may slip, when one's full body weight is taken up by the chin up bar, and causing the bar and one's body to crash by the gravity pull.
It will be painful when your knee or your toes crashed onto the floor, when the chin up bar slipped from its position without the end caps acting as an "anchor or holder cup".
If you are taller then the height of the doorway allow for the chin up bar to be installed, you can always curl up your leg (by either adopting a kneeling position while hanging in the air, or taking on a knee up position when hanging), then pulling your entire body weight up.
Try getting one at Mustafa, they sell two varieties (below or above S$20.00), and both with end cups to be screwed into the door jamb, or onto the wall of a narrow passage way.

Yeah, i read alot of stories of how guys laugh at the girls and in the end they went up and pull 12 times and kick the guys in the butt. Girls are really light mah. So they don't have so much weight to carry when they pull.Originally posted by bluez_sky:hey man......r u sure dat they can do 12 pull ups without assistance? or r they doing inclined flex arm "pull ups"?seriously.....i haf nvr seen a gal able to do even 1 pull up.
