Overall I think the whole show was satisfactory. Wonder why did they shift to the new site. Would prefer the one at the former site. The air display was better than than the one two years back. Was that CH-47 in the air display an SD version?

Not too sure if the flying display Chinook was a SD, the static one was though.
I know we should wait for AA for full acrobatics, but I was hoping for more acrobatics from the flying segment, a couple of loops and rolls from the A-4s, F-5s and Vipers surely wouldn't have hurt? Rather than some simple (relatively) low speed passes
As for the commemorative book, while the $12 price tag is nice, the content was a bit on the disappointing side, some nice Peter Steinemann photos among others, but has its share of poorly taken ones, grainy, underexposed, overexposed...and the dust cover looks kind of flimsy, but I guess I'm just spoilt by the standards set by the 20th and 25th anniversary books. -
Anyone have the poster about the F16 E/F for the rsaf? looks super cool with the chin mounted pods....CFTs.... and the FLIR... this should be a bigger jump than that to the block 60...giving it a new designation. or are they the same? Nonetheless...the show was great. now having abit of hearing probs...

The area where the fighters come out from and where they retreat to after landing is intrigueing. It looks so ulu... and noone expected planes coming out of there. Went today, was disappointed not to see my fav, the Apache.
I think RSAF should have at least fly one in, what could be a better day than their 35th anniversary (which they put so much hype into) to formally intro the helos to the locals.
i think it would have been damn impressive, perhaps during the gun fight can have the Apache as a air cover for the LSVs.
Looks impressive too.

The whole open house today is jus very typical lah. Nth realli special , but surely it is gain the hoo and the arh from the public. Interesting to know that the turret of the V-200 had change and the creative answers those personnel gave when i ask sensitive questions. -

disappointing show, A-4 doing touch and go(2nd skyhawk only one main wheel touch and the pilot lifted off already). F-5 landing. F-16 doing a (if i did not hear wrongly) a 7g turn. The helo display was disappointing too. I remember back a few years back the pumas carried 105mm guns and the boys were able to deploy and fire off relative short time. that was something, it really show off the speed and reaction of our artillary.

The best way to differentiate a Amraam to a Sparrow is that the Amraam have front and back fins of about the same size while the Sparrow have large fins in front and small fins behind.Originally posted by Viper52:Err...thats not my forum...

was at the open house on friday, yeah, with all the school GIRLS!! WOO..
anyways...
I found the open house to be most informative... the ppl there are willing to answer any question. Almost.
I climbed into the Viper C's cockpit, and found it to be identical to the cockpit of Falcon 4.0. No sweat finding all the switches for ramp start.. hehe.
Then i visited the simulators and caught a ride on both the Viper E/F and Hornet simulator. Got 2 kills with Amraams and came in for a nice landing. Couldn kill anything for the hornet simulator though... it was just an outright carrier landing. Great fun. =D
The aerial display was not so fantastic though, except by the solo by Maj. Joseph, i think... That one was pretty cool, he looped over the runway, then pulled a 6g turn around. Not fancy, but better than the usual boring stuff.
Oh yeah, and according to one of the technicians there, the RSAF has already chosen the F-16E/F... well...
