Hmm.... I ord'd some time ago, everything a bit rusty, but i'll give this a shot and exercise my brain a bit...
If i wrong please shout out, ok?
Ok, here we go... ahem...
Commando= Red
Guards= khaki+ backing behind crest
Infantry= Green
Armour= black
Support formations= Blue
That's for the army side, and air force side are blue with Air Force crest. Not sure about Navy tho. I'm also not sure how the beret colour can be switched around when personnel get sent to different units, but i know it happens, except for commissioned commandoes who keep their red beret no matter where they get switched to.
Did i get that right? -

Icemoon, as for the formation thing, let's forget abt it. ok i'm sorry, i was wrong.
For Air Force i think there's another variation, a dirty green beret with air force crest, i saw it from my friend, an air force clerk.
As for Navy, theirs is a Navy Blue (nearly black) Beret with Navy Crest, even their RP wore that.
And yes, all Army Clerks wear blue berets. -

no leh..i'm very sure it's a greyish green, something like greysish blue also. i also not very sure how to describe the colour but it is no where near the infantry green.

Maybe they just changed?
I'm very certain that teh colour of the RSAF beret is not the green one that the Army infantry formation wear. comments? -

btw..ive wash my beret regularly...its does look abit greyish now..

For Guardsmen outside of the 7th SIB, they wear the khaki beret without the backing.
