Teletext on Channel News Asia (Page 116) reported today that an RSAF Pilot has been sentenced to 18 months jail and three strokes of the cane, for hitting a man with a beer bottle at Zouk.
The pilot was convicted of the assault last November at the disco.
His victim was left with a scar on his face.
The pilot may lose his job and forced to repay his bond with the airforce.
His lawyer has filed an appeal and the pilot is currently out on a $15,000 bail - CNA.
Should the pilot lose his job and forced to repay his bond with the airforce ?
Is there fairness for being punished twice for one offense - jail with caning, and losing his career PLUS repaying the bond ?
Why should he repay the bond, as he is being sacked and not resigning on his own free will ?
its in the Bond contract...he noes it too tat if he commit any severe crime in the civilian world..tis is wat u will get..
even if ur not a regular..ur just a NSF..if u commit a crime outside military..u r sentence to jail..after finishing serving ur term..u r still eligible to serve DB too...
breaking a severe military law is equal to criminal offense..cos it leave black marks on ur Civilian Data too
