FPDA Exercises codenames:Originally posted by spencer99:And I thought Flying Fish is a naval exercise. The air component of the FPDA is the "ADEX something".
BVR i guess only after the upgraded the harriers. Not sure what they can can carry now but the British FSR-2(i think) can only use Sparrows last timeOriginally posted by SingaporeTyrannosaur:Not surprised, BVR aside, in a dogfight, the Harrier proves to be an extremely capable infighter with excellent handling at low speeds, plus the ability to Vector In Forward Flight.
The surprisingly favourable kill ratio of the Harrier versus high preformance air superiority fighters has been noted before. In a series of agressor dogfights pitting Navy Tomcats versus Marine Harriers, the Harriers won 23 of the 25 engagements.
Now with advanced BVR capability, the Harrier is a very potent anti air platform as well.
Poor RMAF jokeys, they never knew what hit them...
Upgraded Sea Harrier should be able to carry a pair of Amraams under the fuselage.Originally posted by |-|05|:BVR i guess only after the upgraded the harriers. Not sure what they can can carry now but the British FSR-2(i think) can only use Sparrows last time

Besides, personnally I think the Brits do consider the MIG-29 as a potent aircraft as they only focussed on the MIG-29. What happen to the rest, where were the Aussies and Sing.....?![]()
Originally posted by IAF:The Aussies had already upgraded their Hornets to Amraam capable and also Asraam.

Sea Harriers Go East
....faced the MiG 29 in combat and found the Sea Harrier to be a good match for the MiG. Thanks to the Blue Vixen radar the Sea Harrier won every time in beyond visual range engagements and also scored [b]some notable successes when converting to the visual fighting arena.
Hi Tripwire
No doubt, bvr won by the Brits- fair enough but some notable successes in visual combat ....does this mean some losses in visual combat..unless there's a draw..., nothing mentioned about the "other side" of the story.
[quote]i mean... IF the RAAF were only equipped with sparrow and sidewinder... or probably with no BVR AAMs... i doubt they had a chance against those fulcrums who were simulating with AMRAAMSKI... right?
