As far as i know(maybe not enough!), the F-14 being used by the US navy on their carriers is very old already despite being upgraded numerous times. However there don't seem to be any plans to replace them! The JSF and the F-22 are developed to replace newer aircraft like the F-15,F-16,F-18....Doesn't make much sense to me though. Anyone of you heard anything?

then US Navy also had F-18 on their aircraft carrier pal but why they still using F-14 i dont know about it but i guess it got something to do with the performance that F-14 is able to do while others cant, so they still use it maybe the runway restriction on deck?? maybe the lenght that needed to take off is shorter?? or maybe US dont have so much $$ to change loh??

The F14s will be replaced by the F/A 18 E/F Super Hornets.

As Laplace has said, the F-14 is already on the way out, being replaced by the F/A-18E/F in the fleet defence and longer ranged strike/attack roles.
I visited the USS Nimitz when she stopped over in Singapore a couple of weeks ago, and she had 2 ex-F-14 sqns, VFA-14 Tophatters and VFA-41 Black Aces, using the F/A-18E and F/A-18F respectively.
