  Bloody Shambles Volume I/II by Shores/Cull/Izawa (Grub Street Books)
  The story of the air war over SouthEast Asia. Starts just before the war, and covers the air war over the Philippines, Malaya, Singapore, Dutch East Indies, Ceylon (Sri Lanka). Burma and the Darwin/Broome raids. Hardcover I just saw it at Kinokuniya yesterday (Sunday) and it costs about S$99 per volume. A little on the expensive side (I got mine for A$75 in Melbourne) but worth the read.

  Not read this book yet but will get it the first chance I got. Geoff Fisken DFC, who did the foreward, is a pilot who flew Buffalos over Singapore.

  there were also ex SIA pilots who flew for the Nationalist in China during WW2. I read about it in one of their SIA magazines

  Alan Shearer..... most powerful thing the brits have in the air......made with pre WW2 tech so i guess that qualifies him for this thread
