can someone pls enlighten me what is that piece of equipment the 3SG is holding on his left hand?Originally posted by wuming78:yup yup.. nice rite? but bet they're gonna be quite heavy.
heh. face camou so nice but hand never camou or wear gloves.![]()
i think it is being used now albeit only by the peacekeepers. i would imagine eventually it will be introduced saf wide. and i think it would be a much more convenient and easy to use sbo than the current one.Originally posted by provos:I was just wondering what kind of equipment do SAF combatants use there? I saw them wearing the new SBO that was supposedly on trial by certain units.
Anyway, I had an uncle who went there and it was quite taxing as he had to carry his weapon with him all the time. Think they treat the situation there as ops-time.
tt means nothing of tt sort happened lor. y rely on and trust rumours?Originally posted by snk86:hey, here not cencoreship forum lei.................but what happen anyway? i hear no reports of medic dying in the then east timor...........

He is now OCS camp commandant. An excellent officer and a gentleman, well respected by officers and men from all nationalities. He did well dispite having the tremendous task of commanding a multi-national force each with their own agenda.Originally posted by IAF:Another Defense TV production after the recent RSAF documentary. What do you guys think after watching it?
Perhaps the SAF Major General who was the UN peacekeeping CO there should be the next Chief of Army if not the entire SAF. Time to have someone with operational experience at the helm
Most of them are from ADF. However, some of the specialists and officers are from other units and formations. These ppl are selected by CPC or AOMC.Originally posted by m@rk:where do these peacekeepers come from? ADF? im joining them.. but dunno to sign as a combat medic or spec
but actualli since its more fitting cos its almost like jus another layer of clothing, i would think makes movement easier.Originally posted by War_Antique:The vest that was worn is simply called the LBV or Load Bearing Vest. It has many pockets for various items. But compared to the SBO, it is rather warm and clearning SOC won't be as comfortable.

got pictures of the USGI and their modified no. 4?Originally posted by Temujin:It seems that the SBO is not up to par to world conflict. Before the Molle vest, the SAF was issued with the USGI LBV 88. Alice pack was used instead of the normal pack.
They are using modified No.4 with pockets near their shoulder. I'm not sure what type of body armour they are using.
The ADF and NZDF are using the same equipment. The ADF are using US military body armour as there were shortages of it.
There is still no widespread use of the SAR21/Tavor21 in the SAF.
isit? never took noticeOriginally posted by Temujin:The SAF soldiers are using the modified No.4 with the slanted sleeve at the shoulder as you can't access the shirt pockets.
I didn't notice the slanted pockets. Tot it was standard issue No.4. In fact it's the new design compared to the last one. Anyway didn't bother to wear them since the old ones still good enuff.Originally posted by Temujin:The SAF soldiers are using the modified No.4 with the slanted sleeve at the shoulder as you can't access the shirt pockets.
