My Story: After reading the story written by LadyLurve about the sound of slippers in your office in Peninsula Plaza, i recalled a story. For all of your information, if ever you found yourself alone and you hear the sound of slippers its best the you dont look around or look behind. Run as fast as you can. That sound is made the Pontianak herself.
Let me tell you how I know. For your information, I'm staying in Choa Chu Kang Ave 5. The Lim Chu Kang & Choa Chu Kang Cemetary is nearby & theres a "forest" next to my block. It was on a Friday night, it was 3am. I just returned from one of the clubbing sessions with friends. I didn't drink as I was driving. Better safe than sorry. I was feeling tired. Im sure you guys know that if you come home late you can never find a good parking space in a HDB flat. You will end up having to park the car right at the top. So on that day, I parked my car on Level 5.
My flat is on the next block. Once in level 3, I heard the sound of slippers behind me. As if someone was walking behind me dragging their slippers away. I didnt turned back. I quicken my pace as I feel something wasn't right. The hair on my neck stands. The air was still but there's a sweet smell in the air once a while smells bad. Smells something like Franjipani tree. I'm being muslim but somehow I didnt say any quran verses to fight my fear. I pretended nothing happened. They say these things are like dogs. They will know if you are afraid. I kept on walking till I reached my block. All this while I could hear the slippers sound behind. I never even once look back. This thing followed me all the way.
At the lift, I met my neighbour. He is an elderman about 45. He told me later he just returned from work. He is policeman. I said hi but he didn't> say anything. He ran towards me, grabbed me by the hand and pulled me into the lift. I was too stunned to ask anything. He asked me, "how are you?" I said, "ok". He asked me, "You didnt see it?" I said, "See what?" He said, "Never mind, we talk tomorrow." I know what he is going to tell me. When we reached 15th storey, out of nowhere we could hear dogs howling. We wasted no time & move in to his house. I slept in his house that night.
Next morning, I told him before I met him, I heard footsteps following me. Sound of slipper being dragged. He said he saw a pontianak standing behind me about 10 metres away. She was smiling. She must have followed me from the carpark. Then I asked him about the dogs howling. He said not to worry cos' if u can hear the dogs that can only mean that the "thing" is far away.
But if the dog is whinning that means the "thing" is nearby. No more late nights for me.
So people, the next time you hear the sound of dragging slippers, that could mean pontianak. So please whenever you walk with a slipper on, please don't drag you feet, sounds like pontianak walking. -

is there any way to chase the pontianak? or if you meet of them..you're cfm dead? -
Well, if you are trapped, pump up your courage, tighten your fist, do a war cry and go for it. Rather die fighting than suffer a wimpy demise at the mercy of it.

happened in 2001 when i was serving my bmt in Tekong at bmtc sch 2...I was from Y coy (i shall not name the coy here)....it happened just days after i was enlisted..it was abt 3am when the fire alarm broke out and of course having juz learnt the fire drill the evening b4, the whole company rush to fall in bringing along the necessary stuffs...my company shared a common staircase wif a neighbour company X, so it was quite crowded at the staicase as recruits from both companies try to rush down the stairs...it was weird for the recruits of coy X to come down in their FBO attire but we didnt really tink much at the time coz we were still daze and sleepy...damn! we learnt that the fire alarm was not planned and it was actually a technical fault...that was not it...The next morning, we sure had a scare coz we realised that our neighbour coy X had no bmt intake at the time (so it was supposed to be vacant)...its not juz one or two of us who saw that "recruits" in FBO from that company (abt a platoon size) but my whole platoon actually saw them too! even if they are real humans it juz doesnt make sense to come down in FBO attire for a fire drill

Perhaps cos we dun normally allow trainees up to that floor bah..(If they got go themselves, we dun noe..) but wad we saw as we went up there was a poster of a some chinese religious figures.. The place was a mess & the layout was quite different from what we normally see from Levels 2-6... It was rumoured to be vacanted cos it was haunted...Well, I can't tell how spooky it is for sure cos I dun stay there but it's kinda cold there in the morning..I wonder why...
As for the Shrine...Hmm..the one near opposite the cookhse near the MT line? Never heard of anything from there...

i stay at the accom block for roughly 6 wks during my course time. i actually got heard stories about the 6th floor but didn't care much until i personally "experience" it with other mates.
on of the saturday, i'm on guard duty. so we would prowl around the camp from day to night. the guard house is actually juz beside the accom block lor..so whenever i pee at the toilet, i can see the whole accom block..very quiet and very DARK.
evening came.. and its my turn to prowl lor. so the 4 of us set off from the guard house. other than the street lights, the whole camp is very dark. when we prowl back from the first round, we notice one of the room at the 6th floor accom block lights up. kinda of weird since no pple should be in the camp by then... so we went back to the guard house and look up..the fans also running lor..
we told our guard comd about this..he said thats very normal liao..not the first time already. the next day morning, we come out to take a look again..the lights and fans were off already...
we actually stay at the 5th floor of the accom block and everytime i went toilet..i can feel my hair standing when walking past the stairs leading to the 6th floor.. -

yah the 6th floor is supposed to be unclean... heard 2 stories from my fren when he came in for course. Personally have gone up to 6th floor, din see anything, just that its abandoned.
1st story: once during guard duty they went up to 6th floor to keng, then saw a small girl's photograph propped against the wall with 2 green candles in front of it burning.
2nd story: once after ex or training, they went to the generator store to put back some generators. 3 of them went in the 4th was standing at e doorway when one of the generators at the furthest corner of the room just suddenly started up. The 3 of them(including my friend) kpkb at the 4th guy for being itchy fingered, until he countered back that hes at the oppo corner of the room. The 3 of them had their backs turned to the generator, and they all immediately got stunned when the impact of what the 4th guy was saying. They immediately ran out of the store and left it unlocked. -

that time only the COS is present so i'm not too sure whether he saw that FBO platoon or not..most amazingly when one of my platoonmate asked one of them (that time as we we rushing down the stairs) where they were from, that "recruit " replied they were from coy X...i know it may sound ridiculous here but the fact that the whole platoon actually witness their presense proved that we were not seeing things..and ya i got another fren from an opposite coy who oso saw that FBO platoon infront of the coy X coyline...and the FBO platoon mysteriously disappear after we were being dispersed...Originally posted by 12qwaszx:Wa Mclaren81, your one power leh. Just could not resist any longer but decide to relate an incident that involve a very close friend.
He was with a Specialist Company in support of a mock up Brigade sea borne exercise, which required him to land on Pulau Tekong and spend one night on the island before moving on.
The Company did not move inland, and remained most of the time on the beach and water front of Pulau Tekong - which was still being developed into an SAF Camp, with major land reclamation works but not to the extent of the present day.
One day after the exercise was over, he had to be warded at SGH with swollen testicles, which the Doctors could not diagnose the cause of the very big problem.
Lab test came back with no conclusion if it was a virus attack.
His mother and girl friend asked some of the army mates visiting him, concerning events at Tekong.
From ensuing conversation they revealed that while the Company was at Pulau Tekong, most of them had performed 'nature's call' in the wild open inland and away from the beach; and that he probably had urinated at the beach when they first landed.
Mother and girl friend returned to Pulau Tekong on hired tongkang, and performed prayers and made some offering of rice, wine and sweets to appease any spirits on the island that may have been offended.
Surprisingly, swelling problems subsided one day after the visit by the mother and girl friend to Pulau Tekong. -
My encik told me that soldiers being trained to kill, naturally have this "kill" aura or "SA QI" among the serious ones. That is why when sometimes he pee at night in the field and feel that something is around him, he will suddenly turn and unrinate in that direction. I guess it is right. Think about it. The hair-raising fear you feel is actually generated by yourself in response to an external stimulus. But if you are able to F-care that feeling, the thing cant make use of your vulnerability even if it does a song and dance number in front of you. Plus the fact that you and "it" are both beings as far as the universe is concerned. Our fear of them stems from all past impressions of movies, tales and stories whereby humans are seen to be powerless towards them. If for example, if we grew up with movies and stories about human hunting them down and kicking their ass, the how would you response to an encounter now? -
