Appointment/Rank differences..

Has anyone here been in a situation where your appointment is higher than another person who possesses a higher rank than you but you are of a lower rank? Isn't it very troubling when you try to get that person to cooperate say, in work and that person refuses, furthermore, pulls rank on you and gets away scot-free?Comments, I know it may sound confusing..Apologies

Appointment exceeds rank i guess. but if ur appointment really need u to overule some offr higer in rank than u...then SAF will give u a local rank (to be higher than them) but ur pay remains.

Was in an overseas division exercise a number of years back as a signaller in the div command post. The division chief of staff was only a LTC. Though his brigade commanders outranked him by one crab...he did not for one moment hesitate to chew them up over the radio when they gave their unsatisfactory sitreps

appointment automatically exceed rank...
a 3SG in charge of gate security can DENY unauthorised entry by anyone including colonels and captains... if he has no clearance.. simple example...
an MO's medical appointment overrides the CO's orders in matters relating to medical affairs..
wanna pull rank... no problem.. just refer the matter to higher level and ask them to settle it...
