Hi all,
May I know on what circustances, situation or benefits, would you guys ever consider signing on the ARMY?
Do your peers' opinion take a large stand shall you decide for/against signing up as a regular inside army?
Do you feel that qualification really matters?
And lastly, Have you guys checked out the previous army ads? How do they fare?(compared with airforce/navy/private sector?)
Thanks a million guys. Doing a project in school on Singapore Army, thus I need to fill up my report soon... hee.. Please help. Thanks![/b]

i think interest and passion is most important. and o cos u mus not mind the regimental environment. and the fact there r few zarbor. oso be prepared for quite alot of physical work. if u noe wat u r going for and why, and u really feel for it, my advise is to give it a go.

yes. sometimes ur frens may noe u better than urself, esp when u r strongly believe in something. so they may be able to advise u on whether or not u r actualli suitable. but in the end the decision still lies with u.

not realli, although singapore is still a veri paper-based country and the saf sadly too. but in the end ur performance is impt, though ur education may determine the farthest u may go.

i think in fact the army ads were quite well done and they haf received kudos from those in the field (of advertising tt is). i guess each svc has its own selling point and emphasis, so its not realli fair to compare them. and we wont noe how effective the ads were - only saf noes.

actualli the army does not impose any restrictions on ur desire to switch careers. its regimentation is a necessity but tt does not mean u cannot be creative within the working env.
If you were to live your life IMHO in the army for decades, you get a steady paycheck but u swim in mediocrity because you will never have enough time nor the chances to experience dynamic changes wrought by yourself at your own time and bidding. Its about finding your place under the sun.

No offence to those who do sign on, but when I lie on my deathbed and my life flashes before me, I would want to remember my stay here with satisfaction, knwoing I had fully explored myself and my limits, seen the world and learnt much from it...
hey, all the more u shud give urself a go at at least a short stint with the armed forces (note not just the army) so tt u realli noe u haf fully explored urself and ur limits - both physical and mental. i haf almost the same mentality as u too - i dun think i can ever sit still at a single job position long - i need to constantly move abt and change and learn. but the army would definitely be one of the jobs i would wanna try myself on, jus to test my limits.![]()
