RSAF A4 model kits

hi guys, xmaz is round the corner and i thought of getting an A4 model kit for my brother. but seems like they have gone out of production. anyone know where i can get an RSAF A4 kit (i think most of his collection is 1/48? or at least anyone got lobang or not? can pls help... thanks

I've tried the shop in centrepoint, but the lady said that they haven't had A4 for a long time. i even offered to pay extra for special order, but she says very few people manufacture anymore. she offered to sell me F16 instead, but i think singapore A4 is veri unique and more special. btw, where to get the emblems? most of the decals seem to be USAF... -

u mean the one in Changi? do they have the 1/48 scale... most of his airplanes are in 1/48... it'll seem strange to have an A4 that is bigger than the F5....

Air force museum next to paya lebar airbase, not sure about the scale... u can go there and take a look. Its a shop full of model kits. The airforce emblems are sold near the door. -
Why bother to get just the emblems when you can get the decal sheet for everything on an RSAF A-4?? 142, 143, 145, 150 Sqn marking and Black Knights decal options included as well as old and new style emblems. Hey Vip, seems like your offer is better than the RSAF Museum emblem. There’s more options and it has “everything on an RSAF A-4?? 142, 143, 145, 150 Sqn marking and Black Knights decal options included as well as old and new style emblems. Enough markings for 3 camo and 1 Black Knights Skyhawk. Professionally printed too.”???? cool looking decal sheet man!
How do I get it and how much is it? What about the 1/48 A4 kit? Do you sell those too? I think my brother will like a Black Knight one rather than the regular one.

Price is approx S$20 for the decal sheet. As for the A-4 kit, I can't help you, but you might want to try at the other shops, there are quite a few in Singapore with better prices on their kits. -

The scale is 1/48, the last time I checked (last week) both shops in Singapore had stocks, so I don't think theres a problem of availability.

For the 1/48 A-4 model, you can actually get the Hasegawa RSAF Black Knights A-4SU model. Seems to be widely available the last time I checked. Comes with all the essential A-4SU Black Knight decals.

The problem is the Hasegawa "A-4SU" kit is very inaccurate. by the way, i noticed that the decal sheet has the name as Singapore Scooters... i thot the A4s are known as Skyhawks or Super Skyhawks. what's up with "Scooters"? it sounds too tame ala Vespa Scooters?

Thanks for the info duotiga! u seem to quite knowledgeable about the A4. any idea how this Scooter name came about? I mean, i can understand Hot Rod cos it sounds better... but who would want to call their jets Scooters? doesn't that sound lame? I thot all US fighters have fierce names like Falcon, Eagle, Hornet, Tomcat etc??
