thanks for your info.Originally posted by wuming78:in any case wat has this got to do wif knowing the codes?!
hm.. i think it suffices to noe tt like all other countries, our operational units have codenames assigned to them for the ease of mob and security. these codenames are usually consist of 2 english words, and these can really be any words in the dictionary, e.g. big dick, or suck cock. (o cos they wont choose such code words for fear of inflaming our own citizens and the ppl belonging to the units. these are jus wild examples.Originally posted by nismoS132:thanks for your info.
like i said in the other post. i'm doing something NS related for my final project.
and war is 1 of the main topics.

The codes are no secret. In fact, your family members are supposed to know them, that's why they give you the code sticker to paste on the TV. Saying that, perhaps you can visit 100 homes. You should find some of these stickers on their TV.Originally posted by nismoS132:i just want to know the codes.

Originally posted by gary1910:C'mon people, letting him know some Mob codes is not a breach of OPSEC or the OSA. I've seen some things which come a lot closer of that, and if I remember correctly, I've had to remove one of gary1910's posting because he came too close (much closer than talking about Mob Codes). Letting nismo know the codes, or pointing him in the right direction if we know where we can find them wouldn't kill you. Its not like he's asking for us to link Mob Codes with specific units/formations.
You want code words , well give you some example use by MSD when they talk to you....

How does any potential enemy knowing *just* the codes and *not* the units linked with the codes know the level of mobilisation?Originally posted by gary1910:You r so naive, if you noe all the codes that were flashing on the TV ,then you noe the level of mobilisation especially in a real emergency, the code represent, the units, Bn or BDE, the type of units being mobilise ,some of the codes represent civil resources as well. It is always good to keep our enemy guessing!!!!
Again, the reason why we have the code is so that when its announced on TV, no one other than those associated with the code name know they are being activated. You see *your* code, you know you are being activated, but no one else not associated with the code knows who/what is being activated. Thats the point of the code, and nismo's questions and answers he require does not compromise that system
If the codes are not sensitive, then why code them!
The codes are not sensitive, its the units linked to the codes that are sensitive. That is why we code the units. How the hell does one code the code?
You may as well annouce the units on TV rather than code words!
Actually not just the codes that he asked but the following qns like what do we do during eqiuiping mob exe & the following qns on what is the contingency plans etc that worry me. It will lead from one to another.Originally posted by Viper52:How does any potential enemy knowing *just* the codes and *not* the units linked with the codes know the level of mobilisation?
Can roughly guess la. If you know where (the camp) those Nsmen congregate during a mob, you can link the code with the divison or brigade liao. And observe which unit is currently doing alert red, with the ubiquitous alert red tonners going out for the spin, you can more or less confirm your guess liao.Originally posted by Viper52:Again, the reason why we have the code is so that when its announced on TV, no one other than those associated with the code name know they are being activated.
