Since we are getting into semantics here, could you actually argue that the SAF is experienced? For the most part, our armed forces comprises of NSFs and NSmen, with only a small core of regulars, of which a smaller percentage has seen peacekeeping/peace enforcement action. Well-trained? For sure....experienced? I don't think we are as experienced as the ADF or IDF for that matter.Originally posted by Johnston:Why, im glad i made you laugh.
No. But M'sia, in their logic might decide to attack us over water.
If your really G5, and somewhere high, im sure you know loads more about this. *nudge nudge*
We dont need a 3day shooting course. We need instructions like those given to conscripts before entering stalingrad. End.
Let's not use "battlehardened", eh? Rather "well-trained and experienced".
SG has already done NS for decades, and has most of the kinks ironed out. M'Sia is starting now, and will have many stuff to straigthen before they have good community workers, let alone troops.
In a very real sense, NS has created a nation of riflemen in singapore, albeit not to the extent of sweden. If need be, it's theoretically possible to mobilise every TDH and have them as leg infantry in time of war.
And "bullet proof" is a oxymoron. Bullet proof? Vest proof against 9mm, i take 5.56. 5.56, use 7.62. and so on, and so on.
Correct phrase is "bullet resistant".
Thanks.
lol.........this is too much man, everyone knows the french army is one condem one which have the worst army special forces in the world...(why, i think even US G.I's can beat the FFL in combat)Originally posted by Johnston:I have only disdain for the M'sian army.
I think they rank somewhere near the French army.
Either way, they vacuum in. ()
Where else can you steal a entire armskote by pretending to check it?

FFL is one of the best military unit in the world..FFL n French Army are different..but its always FFL who does the fighting..Originally posted by snk86:lol.........this is too much man, everyone knows the french army is one condem one which have the worst army special forces in the world...(why, i think even US G.I's can beat the FFL in combat)
If you can say tt, u probably havent been through NS, the amount of F-ups u encounter is mind boggling. Besides, where else in the world can a Navy Ship collide with a cargo ship by going against the flow of traffic. It also doesnt bode well for the SAF.Originally posted by Johnston:I have only disdain for the M'sian army.

This shows how little you know of the FFL.They are infact ranked above the US marines in terms of ability and they sure ass hell are better then the Airborne and the average GI's.Reading couple of books on them and you'd find out why. They are used the same way as the Rangers.Originally posted by snk86:lol.........this is too much man, everyone knows the french army is one condem one which have the worst army special forces in the world...(why, i think even US G.I's can beat the FFL in combat)
death doesnt mean they are weak..they just believe in fighting to the death..no such thing as retrogade..Originally posted by snk86:well, maybe indeed i don't knoe about the recent FFl.....but the thing is it is hell more weaker then some othewr special forces.....for once, in indo-china, the whole FFL is desintergrated......and after a reform. desintergrated again........really gao siao sia.......and they insist on the FAMAS.... sad ah.........
err, i am studying this book right now. boy, HALO looks damn hard but damn fun manOriginally posted by NathanG5:death doesnt mean they are weak..they just believe in fighting to the death..no such thing as retrogade..
there are stories on navy seal who drown before the mission start n its the commanding people that are to blame..
recommend that you buy this book call "Elite Forces" by Richard M Bennett..
lotsa success n failure story about the world Special Force..you are gona be surprise that there are more failure then success..
Delta didn't screw Operation Eagle Claw up, the mission was too ambitious for the technology and capabilities that time, plus the presence of the sandastorms which resulted in mechanical failures of some of the RH-53Ds and the catastrophic crash at Desert One (or Two?) between the RH-53 and C-130 all conspired to make the mission impossible to follow throughOriginally posted by snk86:i also learn about the teheran failure from that book..........din know the delta screwed that one up...........
The FFL up till 1970 was considered scum by the French military and sent to do all the jobs nobody wanted.Originally posted by snk86:well, maybe indeed i don't knoe about the recent FFl.....but the thing is it is hell more weaker then some othewr special forces.....for once, in indo-china, the whole FFL is desintergrated......and after a reform. desintergrated again........really gao siao sia.......and they insist on the FAMAS.... sad ah.........
1 chopper crashed....and 2 burnt while refueling i think and waiting for the go code. They did not have enought choppers or equpiment to carry on the mission so it was aborted.i will have to check my book's on that.Originally posted by Viper52:Delta didn't screw Operation Eagle Claw up, the mission was too ambitious for the technology and capabilities that time, plus the presence of the sandastorms which resulted in mechanical failures of some of the RH-53Ds and the catastrophic crash at Desert One (or Two?) between the RH-53 and C-130 all conspired to make the mission impossible to follow through
That's because they arent special forces they are rapid deployment forces and crack troops. They were never meant to be special forces. The french have their own spec ops.Originally posted by snk86:OH!!!!!!!! ok, guess i din read properly, still, hai ya, the FFL's can never really be a real solid special forces like SEALs or SAS right?
btw..SEALs n SAS are not that solid anyway..Originally posted by snk86:OH!!!!!!!! ok, guess i din read properly, still, hai ya, the FFL's can never really be a real solid special forces like SEALs or SAS right?
