1) wad are they using for the "A" gun? is it still the oto melera 76mm super rapid? Most likely so.
2) the 32 cell VLS seen in one of the threads posted by viper, wads it going to fire? ppl say asters..but wad model of it?Confirmed that Aster will be selected. Wat model , not sure. Basing on the possibility our friend up north will get stand-off anti-ship weapons. A mix of Aster30 and another shorter ranged missile is my preference.
3) would the SSMs be Harpoons or Exocets? Most likely either one of these two. Supersonic missiles and other available SSMs in the market now are rather unproven and unstable plateforms.
4) would it be armed with torpedo decoys? Most likely so. ( My opinion )
5) would it replace the MGBs?Yesh.
6) if so, then would the Gabriel missiles still be in service?Either they armed the Deltas with Gabriel or other similar missiles or they will armed the PVs will Gabriel or other similar missiles. We simply need such missiles in our inventory.

oh and um i got other non related questions..
1)in naval gun terminology, wad does the number after the diameter of the barrel stand for? as in in 76mm/62, wad does the 62 stand for?
2)correct me if i'm wrong, but why is it that on naval vessels, not more than 8 western SSMs such as Harpoons or Exocets can be carried?
3) wad is the standard issue small arm for the RSN? i know they have M-16s on board some ships, but some of them carry M4s..
ya i think thats all..thanks in advance[/b]
62 is the calibre meh?I always though it was the barrel length .....Hmm...must have gotten them mixed upOriginally posted by YourFather:1) The 62 refers to the gun calibre.
2) Not that 8 is the max no. Ok, it is, due to the ship having a max number of 8 Harpoon launchers. But more launchers can always be fitted if they really want to. Its just that Harpoons are seldom fired in anger.
Calibre is the barrel length. In this case 62 times You take the diameter 76mm * 62 = 4712mm or 4.712 meter.Originally posted by |-|05|:62 is the calibre meh?I always though it was the barrel length .....Hmm...must have gotten them mixed up
Other then that it's usually due to space and weight constraints.Which is why usually only 8 are carried. But yea like Your father said.....more can be carried if needed.
