Just came across a brochure that states that Singapore, together with Israel are the only foreign countries that have acquire longbow Hellfire through FMS. The other country that has these missiles is the UK (through direct commercial sales).
http://www.defensedaily.com/progprof/army/longbow_hellfire.pdfDoes anyone here know about any such things? I thought Singapore only bought Hellfire II which are laser guided rather than millimeter waves ones. haven't read anything about any additional Hellfire purchases. Totally confused.
Actually the Longbow radar is an integrated Fire-Control Radar (FCR) and missile system consisting of a millimetre-wave radar fire-control system mounted on the main rotor mast of the AH-64D Apache/Longbow helicopter .
So with this radar and w/o the millimetre-wave AGM-114L Longbow missile , kind of useless isn't it?
A AGM-114K could be easily modified to AGM-114L by changing the seeker.
