All right, demo! SOCE was fun except for waking up to the heavy smell of the Cadbury's factory every morning. Apart from that, running around with C4 blocks and making Fougasse mines was a gas!
During the booby-trapping exercise, I booby-trapped the bed. My instructor got pissed off and asked me why I did that. I told him that if somebody was expecting a booby trap, they might check the usual places like doors and cupboards, and if they didn't find anything, they might relax on the bed. My instructor went pale and the course commander cracked up. -

12qwaszx, yup, the Fougasse is the oil drum filled with petrol and rags. We could feel the heat wave all the way to the safety bunker. Hey, did you ever have anyone get "Ready" and "Fire" confused? That's really funny - everybody made a mad scramble for cover and after detonation, the safety officer came out and screamed, "NBCB!". Well, it was funny because it wasn't me! -

Nah, the bugger was a kalang kabut case - he always panicked, even when giving drills when it was his turn to be course i/c. Btw, a lot of people know OETI is crap, thats why its nick is Only Eat Talk Idle.
Not much skills learn there ,only wayang.
Most will learn in units, but unless you are a regular, NSFs dont learn enough to build a biz on vehicles repair. Too dangerous.
But even then, the regulars also disappointing, sigh..... -
