When I was in Geylang in Thursday evening, guess what I saw ?
I saw F-15 flying towards Paya Lebar Airbase...
It was in landing stance....
Test flying in session , is it? -
there was once i saw rafale flying out of PLAB... my house invery near PLAB... I always see strange a/c flying in/out of PLAB... for a few times i saw a jumbo that is painted like the KC 135 but looks like an M. Yup, I also saw about 3 F-15s with a F-5 at Dover.

F-15s (I presume the C version?) in Singapore's air space? It must be some annual RSAF-USAF air exercise.
I remembered the time when I was pursuing my Pre-U studies in OI, all the warplanes have to overfly directly over our heads (guess the flight path to landing passes directly overhead). Still can visualise the time when the RAAF F/A-18s overflew, and all the guys at the basket court just need to lift our head up
and see all the details underneath the fuslage. And given that the Hornets are carrier-designed aircraft, the slow speed approach is pretty impressive!
If any of you are from OI, you will understand what I meant.

The F15s you are seeing this few weeks are F15A/Bs frm the US. Some exercise going on, not evaulation.
The KC135 look alike with the engine on the fin is a KC-10 Extender used by the USAF. -

I believe you are looking a thte KC-10. It has a engine on the tail. Total 3 engines. Well maybe the decision for the Next Gen Fighter is made.... the USA F-15... Dunno if i could mention it here but I found at one of the websites that Singapore is buying the APG-63(V)1 radar mabe by Israel. The radar is used by the F15. Why buy the radar? For our fighters of tomorrow lah...... to moderators....pls delete this thread if it's too sensitive....

This is dated 14/09/2004.... dunno if it's accurate coz if this real....then the decision was made long ago... and they still keeping us in the dark....

Firstly the F-15Ks are still in Boeing's assembly line and secondly exchanges between air forces are so common.

well...if it happen to me that we getting the F15...it better be brand new air frames...
but somehow i think that radar they bought are maybe for current planes that the rsaf may plan to soup up...thats wat i think... -

SINGAPORE, March 3 (Reuters) - Singapore is delaying a $1 billion contract for 20 combat jets by up to three months as Eurofighter, Boeing and Dassault tussle for the well-armed island's biggest fighter order, people close to the talks said.
Despite industry speculation that Singapore was leaning towards one of the two European suppliers rather than Boeing, aerospace analysts and sources said the outcome was too tough to call.
The Southeast Asian nation had been expected to decide on a replacement for its ageing A-4SU Super Skyhawk jets in the first quarter of this year, but people at two of the three shortlisted groups told Reuters a decision was now expected between April and June.
"The Singaporeans have been asking a lot of questions regarding the planes. There's a lot of activity," one source said.
A defence ministry spokeswoman said the deal was still being evaluated. She did not give a time frame for an announcement.
