Tell u all how many times already... Singapore has opted for VF-1As to replace the A-4s n F-5s, as well as a handful of VF-1Js and VF-1Ss. Its actually to complement our Gundam assault suits stored under Pedra Branca.
The F-15s are part of a permanent US detachment based in Singapore PLAB, rotates once a year, squadron strength. Kinda like an exchange since we send our flyboys up to Peace Carvin 1 and 2s anyways. I doubt Singapore will buy the F-15s as our NGF, since its supposed to be the NGF afterall... F-15Es hardly qualify. Their weaknesses and capabilities are too well known already. -

MADRID, March 21 (Reuters) - The Eurofighter consortium is close to agreement with Singapore on an order for up to 20 fighters, the head of the military division of the Spanish wing of EADS said in an interview published on Monday.
Greece has also expressed interest in buying Eurofighters, Pablo de Bergia told Spain's La Gaceta newspaper. The fighters are being built by the Eurofighter consortium, which includes top European defence firm BAE Systems , Airbus parent EADS and Alenia Aeronautica, part of Italy's Finmeccanica .
"We are trying to export the planes to several countries, with the best opportunities in Singapore and Greece," de Bergia said, adding that Switzerland and Norway had also expressed interest.
"In the first case (Singapore), we are close to an accord...," he said.
Spanish Defence Minister Jose Bono was meeting his counterparts from Germany, Britain and Italy in Madrid on Monday to discuss the Eurofighter project.
"Singapore is thinking of buying eight with the possibility of acquiring a further 12 planes. In Greece, the initial contract we discussed was for 60 planes, but now they are thinking of 40 plus an optional 20," de Bergia said.
Singapore was expected to publish a list of finalists for the military aircraft contract this summer and take a final decision before March 2006, de Bergia said.
He said that the cost of hosting the Olympic Games was complicating Greece's decision but the European Union country met all the requirements to become an industrial partner in the project.
People close to the talks said earlier this month that Singapore was delaying a $1 billion contract for 20 combat jets by up to three months as Eurofighter, Boeing and Dassault tussled for the order. Aerospace analysts said the outcome was tough to call.
The Eurofighter competes in a consolidating fighter market where the latest fighters can fulfil multiple roles, removing the need for several older types.
Its key rivals are the Rafale from France's Dassault Aviation, the Anglo-Swedish Gripen from BAE and Saab , the F/A-18 and F-15 from Boeing Co, the F-16 from Lockheed Martin Corp and the Su-29 and Su-35 from Russian maker Sukhoi.
Britain, Germany, Italy and Spain have pledged to buy a total of 620 Eurofighters in three lots. -

EUROFIGHTERS & F-35s in RSAF inventory will be a very formidable combination to reckon with not just in SEA but in the whole Asian Region.
Our pilots are good, please give them a fighter which will provide them with the confidence to fight on par or defeat fighters such as the FLANKERS.

Flankers are no match against the RSAF already lar.
Typical engagement, Flankers and RSAF VF-1Js at stand off range, each fires AMRAAM.
Flanker takes evasive maneuvers....
RSAF VF-1J transforms to guardian mode / Gerwalk, and shoots down the AMRAAMsk with the head mounted CIWS, then switches back to fighter mode with FAST PACK on, and blasts toward the flanker at MACH 4.
Flanker successfully evades the AMRAAM due to superior manueverability, but is shocked to discover the RSAF VF-1J hot on his ass, in Short Ranged Missile Range... Flanker nimbly dodges around the sky, and the closure rate increases. Within seconds, the VF-1 has no opportunities to fire off missile.
The Russian made aircraft uses the opportunity to execute the famous Cobra manuever in an attempt to have the VF-1J "fly right by."
The RSAF pilot laughs before pulling his throttle back, and to the left, quickly transforming into the battroid mode as he over shoots. And while overshooting, superior thrust vector technology slips the now half-aircraft, half robot thing in a 180* twist. And within half a second, the battroid is fully formed and hosing the flanker out of the sky with 30mm Battroid battle rifle.
The flanker takes numerous hits to the wings and fuselage before the pilot realises its futile to fight anymore and ejects.
So, forget the F-35 or the Typhoon. VF-1s RULE. -
CSAF: Raptor, Eurofighter Complementary

WASHINGTON --- The Air Force chief of staff added to his 5,000-plus flying hours with familiarization flights in both the F/A-22 Raptor and the Eurofighter aircraft.
Gen. John P. Jumper said the Eurofighter is both agile and sophisticated, but is still difficult to compare to the F/A-22 Raptor. He is the only person to have flown both aircraft.
"They are different kinds of airplanes to start with," the general said. "It's like asking us to compare a NASCAR car with a Formula 1 car. They are both exciting in different ways, but they are designed for different levels of performance."
The Raptor is the latest addition to the Air Force combat aircraft inventory. The Eurofighter is a combat fighter aircraft designed and produced as a joint effort by several European countries.
Despite being designed for different missions, General Jumper said the Eurofighter and the Raptor are equally high-tech aircraft.
"The Eurofighter is certainly, as far as smoothness of controls and the ability to pull (and sustain high G forces), very impressive," he said. "That is what it was designed to do, especially the version I flew, with the avionics, the color moving map displays, etc. -- all absolutely top notch. The maneuverability of the airplane in close-in combat was also very impressive."
The F/A-22 performs in much the same way as the Eurofighter, General Jumper said. But it has additional capabilities that allow it to perform the Air Force's unique missions.
"The F/A-22 Raptor has stealth and supercruise," he said. "It has the ability to penetrate virtually undetected because of (those) capabilities. It is designed to be a penetrating airplane. It can maneuver with the best of them if it has to, but what you want to be able to do is get into contested airspace no matter where it is."
General Jumper said he believes the Eurofighter and the Raptor will help America's allies and the Air Force each perform their part of the overall mission as they work together to execute the war on terror.
"We do things in a complementary way," he said. "We have been to war with our allies in Desert Storm, in Kosovo and more recently in Afghanistan and Iraq. We all have our roles to play, and the role of the U.S. Air Force is in many ways to kick down the door and make sure the airspace is available for people to do whatever it is they want to do in the air or on the ground under that airspace."
One advantage of having flown the Eurofighter, General Jumper said, is that it allows him to get first-hand knowledge of technology U.S. allies use and to see how America's handiwork stacks up. He said he believes the two aircraft are running neck-and-neck, but America must always be vigilant to ensure it stays on the cutting edge of aviation technology.
"You can see the technology that is out there compared with ours," he said. "You see the avionics and all of the great progress that has been made. You make sure you are not too complacent, because the technology that they have is very competitive with technology that we have."
